Make sure dial on front of cassette matches paper size in cassette
Chekc what the printer really asked. Sometime it is letter format or letterhead or something like that.
When the paper in the cassette is defined as "normal" and "A4" and you send "Letter" or "thick" then it asked for paper also.
Most people don't see this. They see only Add Paper on display.
For the paper size to be recognised you need to adjust the roller from the front of your paper tray to the desired size.
Insert the paper and if the problem persists, you'll need to consider applying the following temporary fix:
Locate the 3 spring clips on the insert section of your printer where the paper tray slides in. The 3 springs will be on the side where the paper size can be adjusted on your printer tray.
Apply cellotape over the springs ensuring they are fully pressed and then re-insert the tray.
The clips are what helps your printer determine the paper size in your tray. Rotate the paper size roller on the tray and notice how the notches change, each turn will allow the notch to press the relevant spring clips inside the printer.

under the front of the cassette on the bottom is a white catch if you pull it towards you the paper will spring up. more then likely it is not automatically getting pushed when you put the cassette in.
if this is not correct if you take the cassette out and look in where you took it out of there should be a arm hanging down just left of center that is the paper out sensor arm of that is broken it could be your problem also
