go into the menu to channel set up and pick auto program it will fo through all the channel and pick which one is on.

it will work fine, the dtv at the beginning of your model number satnds for digital TV

You need to make sure the TV is set for "cable" tuning and not "standard" or "air." (If you are getting only local off-air channels and no cable stations at all, be sure you have a good cable and connection to the set. Normally, even if the TV is set for "air" you will get the low-number cable channels 2-13.) This is usually a selection through the TV's set-up menu. With a universal remote, it may be difficult or even impossible to get to all the menu entries. Most replacement remotes don't support all the original remote functions. Try with yours and good luck. Once you get the TV set to the proper tuning, you should have all your cable channels.

Try to see if you have 5volts for your EEPROM. If the voltage is normal try to replace your EEPROM or try to reprogram it. Your EEPROM is corrupted so that's why it will not store data.

my volume went out all of a sudden will it ever come back on or how can i get it back on

if its a durabrand i went to the ORION website and called customer service cause i bought mine from a pawn shop and had the same problem mine is a dtv1907a so here is what you do... unplug any cable, ant, and so on from the back then find a channel that looks like snow where no pic is tryin to come in and then turn the volume all the way down.. hold the down volume down at the same time point the remote to the tv pushing the number "0" hold it till the menu pops up then relese the 2 and just let the menu clear off the screen once the menu clears off the screen the v chip has been reset.. real easy

Last time one of my durabrands did this I unplugged it for like 10 mins and gave it a nice kick to the side and it worked fine again. I know it sounds crazy but dont kick it too hard like dont crack plastic. I have also done this to oversurged CRT monitors

The tv may a SAP circuit fault (Second Audio Program). This circuit can mess up and cause some channels which are carrying SAP to put out the wrong language. I've seen this happen a few times. AN IC may have gotten zapped when the transformer blew. Possibly the microprocessor IC. Stargazer
