You probably messed with the contrast settings. try restoring them to default.

My sony wega kf-50we610 unlike every one else i have no problems with set turning on my problem is i cant watch anything do to the picture being distorted scrambled like i can see the menu options and...

It looks like the vidoe board but the fault can be also a distortion in the horizontal / vertical section. So check the PIN amp and related sections. What must be looked is of the HSTAT can be off set.
Deguass the set well to confirm if there is any possibility of a distortion of picture by a severe magnetic field.
Since there can many problems associated with a distorted picture but you can try and see these possibilites other than the Y amp processing. Hope my suggestions helps.

56 inch tv with double vision and has bowed picture at top and bottom and color is way off

OK the bowed effect is an IC that controls the picture It replaces the flyback transformer of older TV's ( some plasmas still use transformers) Standard TVs nearly alsways have them
Doubhle vision ( ghosting is bad convergence)
Color variances Control caps on sustain or main color board.

Now these controls are spread over the two sustain or color board/s

Now some think that replacing these boards will fix their problem and many are right( at least for a while) But there is a penalty for DIY without knowing what voltages should flow from the control board to these parts. ( after all something caused it in the first place and it can be hard to find what was the offender)
There is also the tuning of the convergence and getting the picture to display correctly ( generation of TEST pattern to get this right)

If you have the skills understand electronics and have acess to the right tools it can be a cheap option to fix it. But My advise is call a professional. That way you avoid HT electric shock Radiation from the rear of the tube and extra expense from a further failure a bit further on.

Boards cost about 2-300 to buy serviceman charges about $450 with parts and tuning.His/her work also carries a guarantee

Color ghosting or shadows

The most likely cause is shorted convergence chips and possibly a few pico fuses.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer2_bing.gif Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get a convergenece repair kit with instructions from the links below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

Problem #1) Convergence

Yours may have one or more of the following symptoms...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2
Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

Sony plasma picture is blurry and makes a popping noise

Hello MDay02,
Your problem maybe your X board which is the same as PCB X sustain. Changing the fuse in this case may NOT solved your problem. If you are handy, you may be able to change the board yourself. We have most Sony X board in stock. If you purchase the board from us, we will walk you through the installation process for FREE over the phone.

LCD picture distortion.

This is caused by a failure of the main board. The failure causes the refresh rate of the unit to be off creating a trailing or ghost effect. This will require a technician to replace that board though. Hope this help.
