Probably you have to change your resolution settings and what type of operating system are you using?? or you have to get your computer checked out by a professional to be safe.

My LCD TV has a vertical line on the right side of the screen. What causes that?

I hate to give you bad news but I believe this will be a panel issue and it's not going to be fixable. You can try a different tcon board but I don't think it will help

Only half the screen is working, the other half is vertical lines of various colors. its a 2006 nexus 4701 hdtv

Hello,

All Plasma and LCD ts have boards that control vertical and horizontal output to their respective areas. They are connected to the screen by ribbon cables. If one of these boards fails all together, has a failed chip, a bad connection, or a bad ground somewhere it will result in a black line in the area of that board. A bad ribbon cable connection on the bottom will result in a vertical black bar though the screen. Many times resetting the connection will fix it, if the ribbon cable has been nicked there could be a severed connection. They an sometimes be fixed, but it is a pain. An yes I have done it, but the bar is gone. The same will happen if the chip that outputs to that area opens. The connectors are the first place to look paying close attention to the cable, they are extremely delicate so great care must be taken.
Hoping this will helpout

Good luck.

Screen is half picture and half black with vertical colored lines

I had the same issue. I could get the tv to work intermittantly by pressing on the boards while playing. This points to bad solder joint, so I resoldered every molex plug connector, and it nows works like a charm.

IBM A31 2652 Video garbled video at boot

This is very possibly a hardware problem, namely a crack in the motherboard. Sorry, no easy or cheap fix for it if that's the case.

IBM Laptop A31 2652 Garbled video even at initial boot screen

Connect an external monitor to the laptop, power up the monitor first and then bootup the laptop. The Windows image will automatically divert to the external monitor.
If the images is OK then the video card is OK.
From the description of the fault, it indicates that the fault could be a faulty video cable or video connector. Try reseating the video cable/connector on the motherboard.
Get back to me if you still have problems together with any error messages etc.

Blank screen or vertical colored lines on monitor

sounds like a graphics card failing

is it on board graphics ?

if so try a graphics card in there see if that helps it

also if you could borrow a monitor and see if that helps

its either one or the other and is a process of elimination
