Battery heats up - 5130 Nokia Cell Phones

The heat from the fireplace can have an adverse effect on the life of the batteries. Sometimes simply re-positioning the receiver to a cooler location under the firebox and/or adding a heat-shield can improve battery performance with the Skytech remote receivers.
As a test, you could even place the receiver outside the fireplace for a period of time to gauge the effect of heat on the unit.


According to the owner's manual for the Skytech 3301 Thermostat Remote:


"For REMOTE RECEIVERS that operate on BATTERY POWER, these heat conditions can cause batteries to discharge when temperatures exceed 115 degrees F. Studies show that alkaline batteries, when exposed to a constant temperature of 120 degrees F, can lose up to 50% of their operating power. When the battery cools down, it will partially recharge itself, but constant heating and cooling will reduce the battery's normal life expectancy."

i put mobile to charge on yesterday at 9 pm after three hours i came to take the phone .but the phone did not charge and it has got very heat whole phone got o heat and now it is not getting on

Battery heating =Board problem. Or more radiation. U r running too much application in background. Disable the autostart application.(antivirus) etc download mobileguard application it would help. Www.netqin.com

The battery in UPS supplies a dc vcoltage to an converter which in turn converts the dc into acceptable ac voltage. When a load is connected to output terminals of UPS, a certain amount of current is drawn which in turn to be supplied by battery to the converter circuit. When the current flows through the battery, due to its own internal resistance heat is generated in battery that causes heating up of battery. When there is no load to ups, but charging of battery is on, the charging current passing througfh the internal resistance of battery heats it up. so either charging or discharging time the battery gets heated up. Ripple is sometime expressed as millivolts to per output volts. insuch cases the ripple has to be multiplied by output voltasge to get the correct value. Ripple content can be measured using fast responding sensors connected to the system or oscilloscopes.

Most newer lap top computers generate a lot of heat. The designers of the machine walk a narrow line between efficiency and customer satisfaction. The heat comes from the processor and the power supply of the screen. Designers incorporate a standard called heat pipe design into cooling the CPU along with a small fan sometimes. The heat pipe design is a static (no electricity used) means of wicking away the heat from the processor. When the temperature goes higher than the heat pipe can act, a small fan cuts in to reduce the temperature, but at a cost of using electricity from your batteries. The heat of the lap tops have caused people to seek medical help for excessive reddened legs, thus generating a medical syndrome called "Lap top Syndrome"

The batteries are LI-ion (Lithium Ion) construction and have to be re-charged with extreme care as excessive heat generated by charging can case the lithium to burn and cause a fire. Battery designers have placed a small smart chip in the battery pack to monitor the voltage levels and this chip will shut the battery down if too much heat is detected. Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S)- The Bank 1 Sensor 1 tells me that it's an upstream O2 sensor. The larger the number the further down the line of the exhaust it is. Removal & Installation 4.2L Engine
To Remove:

1. Raise and safely support vehicle.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Detach electrical connector from right inner fender splash shield (if necessary).
4. Remove right inner fender splash shield (if necessary).
5. Disconnect heated oxygen sensor electrical connector.
6. Remove heated oxygen sensor.

To Install:

1. Apply anti-seize lubricant to heated oxygen sensor threads.
2. Install heated oxygen sensor. Torque to: 34 ft-lbs (46 Nm)
3. Connect heated oxygen sensor electrical connector.
4. Install right inner fender splash shield (if necessary).
5. Attach electrical connector to right inner fender splash shield (if necessary).
6. Connect battery ground cable.
7. Lower vehicle.

4.6L and 5.4L Engines
To Remove:

1. Raise and safely support vehicle.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Disconnect heated oxygen sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove heated oxygen sensor.

To Install:

1. Apply anti-seize lubricant to heated oxygen sensor threads.
2. Install heated oxygen sensor. Torque to: 34 ft-lbs (46 Nm)
3. Connect heated oxygen sensor electrical connector.
4. Connect battery ground cable.
5. Lower vehicle.

Get a new voltage regulator / rectifier.

I followed a comment from a previous source and reversed the polarity of the batteries. I then flipped them back to the correct position and the flashing battery indicator went away and the thermostat functions correctly.

Little bit heating is acceptable as after all it is working. It should not heat up too much. When you are using it and also have the charger connected to it naturally it will heat up as the battery is discharging and charging simultaneously. I have a Nokia E71 and use it as a wifi hotspot to access the net on my laptop, you got to see it heat up. And I also keep charging it as the battery drains very fast if used as a hotspot. But thats how it is. So, dont worry unless it heats up very much. If it does then show it to Nokia Care.

This is the problem with nokia batteries they heat up and get blown please change the battery use a new battery this will resolve the problem..
