Mitsubishi WD-Y57 57" Projection HDTV Logo
Mike Mcmullen Posted on Oct 07, 2013

My WD-Y57 screen does not turn on. TV seems to power-up normally. Lamp 3 months old. Timer light solid green, no other lights lit. TV mechanical sounds seem normal. Looking through the vent slots in back, I can see the lamp is lit. Nothing on the display when I press the menu button. System reset button does not solve problem. If left this way the TV power stays on with timer light solid green.

SOURCE: Blinking Green Light on Mitsubishi DLP 52525

the circut that detects the bulb has been also failing in these sets
and the conversion chip that controls the picture , and the transformers are not putting out the full power they are supposed to.
this set will need to be tested to determine the exact cause or causes

SOURCE: WD-62525 green timer light keeps blinking after lamp replacement

Did you let the green light flash for about 70 seconds? It goes thru a self check when plugged in and takes a little time

SOURCE: I have Mitsubishi WD-Y57 DLP.

I have the same TV. Mine is almost 3 years old. From what I've learned you should try to reset the TV. There is a small button in the front input compartment. Use a pen to push that in and wait for the green light to stop blinking. Then try the TV.
If that does not work you probably need a new lamp. Apparently the lamps only last for a couple years on average. Having to replace them can really add to the cost of buying/owning one of these TV's

I have a Mitsubishi model WD-60737 and to make a long story short 1st time problem lamp replaced fine for a month til my uncle hooked a DVD player to my TV next day turned on with solid green light then TV kept turning off after 2 to 3 minutes of beingetting turned on and a solid red light to show after. What does that mean? It's a brand new lamp and worked for a month so why shut down now? Could my uncle have did something to where it shook up the circuits or something?

WD-57731 Will turn on, I get sound but no picture.

You should be able to see if lamp itself is lit or not, if lamp does come on or has been replaced recently let me know, I have a idea or two but need more information if possible.

I replaced the lamp however the green light blinks for a minute then the lamp light comes back on and the tv can't be turned on. WD-Y57 model

with that model after the tv shuts off pres the "menu" and "device" button on the front panel buttons together for about 8 seconds and then the power led will blink green. it will blink a certain number of times then pause and blink a different number of times this will be the error code for the fail that the tv thinks it is having. for example it may blink green 6 times then pause and blink 1 more time that would be code 61 check the code and repost and i will tell you the next course of action good luck

TV will not turn on

There are a few reasons that this could be happening first one is maybe the lamp died on you, Afraid there is no way to test this other than replacing the lamp. The second problem may be 5 capacitors on the power supply that hold the 12 volt line low and do not allow the light engine to start properly.
First thing you have to do is listen to how it trys to start, It should sound like this, first when you hit the power switch there may be a click then within five seconds the fans then a few seconds more you may here a sparking noise, if all this is happening then you most likely just have a bad lamp
