Repaired latch inside door, but when I close the door the light stays on and reads close door

Repaired latch inside door, but when I close the door the light stays on and reads close door
How To Fix A Stuck Latch If your door can open correctly but can't close without getting stuck, it's likely an issue with the latch. Multiple issues can compromise door latches, such as a mechanical error, worn down latch components, broken door handle cables, and more. If the latch is simply stuck, you should be able to fix this yourself without taking your car to a mechanic. Just take some oil lubricant, like WD-40, and spread/spray it into the latch mechanism of your open door. Let the oil soak in for a little bit, then use a microfiber cloth to rub the oil into any visible parts of the latch. While performing this task, check to see if you can find any rust on latch components. If you do, use a piece of steel wool to scrape the rust away. Once removed, try opening the latch with your door handle to confirm that it is once again functioning correctly. In some situations, your latch may accidentally be closed when it should be open. This can happen for multiple reasons - sometimes due to an electrical glitch or a mistake made while repairing the door. Either way, if you have a car door with a closed latch, try opening your door and looking at the latch to determine its orientation. Then, open a functional door and look at the latch to see how it's supposed to be. A working door will have a latch with "open" jaws. These jaws can catch the door jamb anchor and rotate into a closed orientation to secure the door. If the latch's jaws are already closed, it can't engage with the anchor or close properly. To fix this issue, take a screwdriver and hold the door handle in the open position (pulling if necessary). As you pull the handle, rotate the latch with your screwdriver into the correct orientation. If needed, ask a friend or family member to help you hold the door or hold the handle open for you while you perform this action. Once you have moved the latch into the correct orientation, test the door handle a few times. The latch should open when you pull the door handle, and the door should again be functioning correctly.

Try pushing in on the door while pressing the door release latch;
Also, try pushing the door latch and reach under the front edge of the door and slightly pull as the latch is depressed.
Third option is use a suction cup, maybe from a GPS device on the glass portion of the door, pulling on it while you depress the door latch....let me know any problems or if I can help anymore.

Door latch

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Open Lever If the microwave door won't open the open lever might be broken. This part can be replaced separately.

Door Spring If the microwave door won't open the door spring may have broken. The door spring is located inside the door and keeps downward pressure on the door hook.

Door Latch If the microwave door won't open the door latch might be broken. The door latch is inside the microwave. The door hook, which is part of the door, engages with the latch to keep the door closed during operation. If the door latch or actuator breaks the door may not open.

Door Hook If the microwave door won't open the door hook might not be releasing properly. The door hook is installed inside the door and normally releases when the door is opened. The hook is made of plastic and will break over time. When this happens it will need to be replaced, it can't be repaired.

Button Spring If the microwave door won't open the button spring might be broken internally. The button spring can be replaced.
Button If the microwave door won't open the button might be broken internally. The button can be replaced.

Handle Actuator If the microwave door won't open the handle actuator might be broken. This is a plastic part which can become brittle over time. This part is connected between the door button and the door latch assembly.

The 2 hooks(latch) inside the door have lost spring tension.

For no apparent reason, the latch broke on the 9187 ST. Take the door off of the microwave, which isn't too hard. Rotate the door to 90 degrees, lift up, and slide it to the left. Place the door on the counter, latch side up. Use a thin knife or screwdriver to lift the panel that covers the latch. It is very easy to remove it from the door. Then slide the latch up and lift is out. The spring is under the latch. The clip on the latch that held the spring was fractured. So, I drilled a tiny hole in the body piece from where the clip extended. I reattached the spring to the latch, replaced the panel, replaced the door, and it is as good as new.

My Kitchenaid khms155lss-2 has a problem latching completely. Once finally latched the microwave would start and then stop during the cooking time because the door became unlatched. I have to stand by the...

Ok.Agreed, latch is not cracked or worn out.But check the grip of latch.Open the door. The hold the latch in your hand and see,if its loose or tight. It should be tight.Press the latch towards down and move it left/right slowly --- slowly. And inspect the latch. It will move, there will be a moment but the position of the latch in the door frame should be tight. If you feel that latch is got very loose, then the door frame needs to be disassembled and latch assembly has to be repositioned and fitted. In most of the cases this latch breaks/cracks and it needs replacement. But in your case, its different, you mentioned that if you keep your oven door pressed then latch remains closed..So if latch is broken/cracked it will not get closed properly. So as per that i think, you will have to check the opposite side of the door frame, where this latch gets into.On that side, there is a interlock type part.Which holds this latch. That part is operated by spring. If in-case that interlock type part or the spring, any of this is got loose then latch will get released after few minutes.--------------- But first as regular troubleshooting, you inspect the latch.Do you feel its loose or getting very easily moved, then open the door frame and check the latch.----------- For that you will required door disassembly diagram:--- Click the link, see part number 3 is door latch.-------- http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/partsdirect/showSubComp.pd?imageUrl=http://c.searspartsdirect.com/lis_png/PLDM/W0505176-00002.png -------------- If the latch is properly positioned and intact then ,you will need to disassemble the opposite side cabinet to check the internal part, which hold the latch. For that you will require complete disassembly:---Click this link for complete disassembly:-- http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Kitchenaid-Parts/Microwave-Parts/Model-KHMS155LSS2/0593/0123370?pathTaken=&prst=0&shdMod=KHMS155LSS2 -------------- The door latch itself or other parts holding the door latch, none of the part is costly then $10.The cost of part is under $10.---------It just require you to figure out, either is cracked /broken part or just loose misaligned part.-------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Frigidaire wall bake oven (door opens with hinges on left) won't unlock after cleaning. Turned current off and back on with no results. Fan runs as in cleaning cycle, but door won't open.

If after self cleaning cycle the over door is not getting open. Then in some cases the door latch gets locked and this latch stops functioning so the door does not get open.In this case the front door assembly has to be disassembled and the door latch,it has to be manually triggered/pushed by a screw driver or any such object. So the door latch releases the door to get open. Then refit the parts and check,if the door latch is not functioning as it should be.Then the door latch assembly has to be replaced. After self cleaning, many a times the door latches gets overheated and its connections gets short internally. This is noticed by many other users too.In some cases door latch just gets blocked and triggering it with screw driver, makes it function properly. So disassemble the door and see the condition of door latch. This will help you to decide whether its just locked or got faulty.------------If its got faulty and you require door latch part, then you can get it from the online sites like www.repairclinic.com or from searspartsdirect site.
---------------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Door latch and Screen

This is because of the broken latch. There are switches inside the oven that are operated by the door latches to make sure you're not trying to use the oven with the door open. With the new door, your oven should be back to normal.
