These washers are a little complicated and I also have to perform the service test to see which direction to go in. You said you did the reset thing, not sure what that is but try unplugging washer, walking away and do something, then come back. This is to make sure there is enough time to cut power off inside control board. Next, look at start button, it should be rubber, and make sure it's not pushed in and out of position. I've had a unit with a pushed in start button and it causes problems with start button. Good Luck
Sounds like video card or video cable is faulty or loose. Is screen always blank no matter what you try? Were you getting intermittent screen flickering. There is a ribbon cable that runs from base to lid that sometimes get worn or loose from constant open/close of the lid. Try cranking lid to different positions while trying to boot up. You maybe able to find a video card under one of the covers on bottom. push card all the way inward to make sure it is seated correctly.
I had this happen to my emachines T1842 about a year ago. I replaced the power supply and it worked fine. It was about 25 bucks but fixed my problem. Make sure the red switch on the back hasnt been messed with. it should be on 115. If you have moved it, it may have blown a fuse inside the power supply.
