Sounds like you need to change the 'power options' in the 'control panel'.

start--> control panel -->power options

or just use windows search for 'power options'

there are settings where you can change how it acts when plugged in vs on battery. There are usually options to lock brightness.

SOURCE: Samsung NC10 Fn key inactive

Go to Start, All Programs, Samsung, then Easy Display Manager Option. Make sure that the "Advanced Volume" is enabled. Somehow that also enables the other functions. I couldn't use my function key for anything but after I enabled advanced volume, the function key was working for brightness, sound, F4, etc.

You also have to make sure that the Magic Keyboard is on.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: Samsung NC10 Screen goes white when plugged into Charge

I too had this problem with my NC10, and i found that on the back, the little slider holding on the battery casing was not in the locked position. As soon as I locked the slider, the problem was solved and has not occurred again.Might not be the case for all these posts above, but worth checking your before having to get involved with customer services etc.

Hi

The problem you are experiencing is from either the screen of your laptop, the screen board which holds the screen in place or the screen bulb which lights up your screen.

You should get an expert to diagnose which one of the three is faulty, but at least one of the three things i have listed is faulty.

Thank you for visiting fixya

Samsung plasma with blotchy screen

I've seen this type of issue before. It is probably the screen, I've heard of people taking it to a repair shop and getting the plasma "recharged". Probably worth checking out as it would be cheaper than a new TV.

Samsung flat panel monitor brightness indicator problem

This is a firmware issue.
The system is telling you that the monitor is having an issue with the brightness and is not able to regulate it by it's internal program.
It seems that this device is needing electronic service.
Hitting the menu buttons will not remedy this issue. You will need a service tech to diagnose the problem.

Hi, I have just purchased the Samsung LE37A559 tv. I have been trying to get the best colour settings brightness colour contrast tint backlight etc. Is there a optimum setting for all of these ? I am...

The problem is that everyone has a different "taste" when it comes to these settings. I like to turn the color all the way down to start with. You should (if the set is factory adjusted correctly) have a black and white picture. If it's not B&W, then there's something inside the set that needs adjusted and you should get a service call. Then I adjust brightness and contrast to get the best B&W picture. Then I turn the color up until I'm happy with the color level, then I adust tint.

Hope that helps
