can someone help me out from this problem.

I am using ASUS P5RD1 VM series motherboard and Samsung HD080HJ SATA HDD 80 GB.

My problem is that when i do switch on my PC it detects my DVD-ROM, CD-ROM and Hard disk but it does not shows it in Bios setup and during installation of Windows XP SP II it shows "Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer."

In starting it shows DVD-ROM as Primary Master and CD-ROM as Primary Slave & SATA HDD as 3rd Master..IDE Hard Disk and it shows DVD-ROM and CD-ROM same as Primary Master and Primary Slave in the Bios Setup but did not shows any Hard Disk Drives. Moreover, SATA HDD is working properly on another PC and i've only SATA drive not any other drive.

I had checked it with both options in Bios Setup as "SATA Controller enabled/disabled".

please suggest me some solution for this problem.

    regards

Check the SATA/RAID controller setting. It could have been set to [Disabled] Refer to your user?s manual for a detailed description on how to enable the onboard SATA/RAID controller by adjusting the jumper or BIOS settings. Regards SparkGap

SOURCE: raid problem

Windows XP does not support SATA you need to load the SATA drivers from the motherboard manuf. You should have a cd for RAID/SATA drivers. When you boot off the XP CD it give you an option to load third party drivers watch at the bottom of the screen. When you see this message you can insert the CD that contains the drivers it is looking for the you should be able to load Windows XP.

500 Gb sata hdd not detected on k8mm-v motherboard

Find in your BIOS if you have an option that says configure SATA as IDE, AHCI and raid. Set it at IDE and try again to install the OS. After intaling do not switch back because it will not work.

HDD problemon asus motherboard p5rd1-vm

You need to install the SATA drivers that belog to your specific motherboard.
When you are installing Windows thru your Windows CD, there is a moment at teh beginning of the process that you will be asked to press F6 if you want to install 3rd party drivers.
That is your call.
Once the SATA drivers are installed, you will be able to continue with your Windows installation.

Don't forget to rate this answer if it helps.

Troubling in sata connection

  • I suppose there is a jumper(beside the power pin) on your new HDD,
  • if its true the your HDD supports 3GB/s mode but your motherboard does not .
  • So place the jumper on the HDD on 1.5GB/s combination.
then
  • Disconnect the 80 GB,
  • Connect the new HDD,
  • Boot from any bootable xp or vista or any disk tool like erd commander and try to format the new HDD.
  • Then connect the new HDD and boot from it.
Tell me what happened.

CDBOOT: memory overflow error.

Hey there,

At first you need to tell me whether ur hard drive is sata or pata.

If u r having Sata drive then this error occurs due to absence of SCSI Controller driver.

Else if u r using PATA Drive then Try change the bios ssetting.

Go to advanced --> Sata Configuration --> and then disable SATA native mode.
Try out above mentioned solution it'll surely help you.

Thanx.

Gimme your acknowladge by rating my solution.
