Volume will go up on its own, and will not come down. It is not the remote, and I unplugged the set for several days to reset. Intermittent at first, now goes up immediately, and neither remote or controls on TV have any effect. What is the part responsible? Advice?

Unfortunately, without having a technician diagnosing the TV, we would be unable to advise what part(s) may be necessary for repair. I would recommend calling to schedule repairs.

Insignia Sucks

SOURCE: Controls Don't Work

I have this EXACT SAME problem with my Insignia 26" LCD TV. I was three weeks out of warranty when it happened and Insignia wouldn't do anything to help me. I brought it to three repair shops and each repairman said that they couldn't guarantee they could fix it even IF they got the right parts. Anyhow, the TV repairman had it for three months (getting parts shipped from Asia, repair time, etc.) and he couldn't fix it. He also told me that tons of other people have the issue and that Insignia is replacing their TVs under warranty. So, if your TV is still under warranty, call Insignia. You just have to pay for shipping and shipping insurance. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: No control either by remote or manual.

Unplug your tv for at LEAST 4 hours. By doing this you are doing what we call a "master reset", the processor and memory inside are reset.
Let me know what has changed so I can further assist you from there.

SOURCE: My Insignia NS-LCD32 TV won't power on. The remote has good batteries, the outlet has power etc. Insignia says to unplug it it for a few seconds and then plug it back in. I tried that multiple times w

The power surges have probably blown the fuse in the power supply board. This may not be the only problem. If you are still under warranty, you will need to have it serviced at a service center. If not You will need to find a repair person or center to open the unit and test it for you. This television and all your electronic equipment should be protected with surge protectors. The reason is your power company has problem with power outages and this will damage your equipment. There is no built in self defense for this equipment due to the huge variants involved with power companies. You should call Insignia and ask them where you can find a authorized service center. You can call the Insignia customer support at this telephone number 1-877-467-4289. Tell them the model number of your television and the problem you have had with its failure to turn on.They will be able to help you find a service center to test and repair your television. I hope this information helps you with your problem.

A variety of remote control codes can be found at InsigniaProducts.com. Failing that, try codes for the following brands: Orion, Emerson, Memorex, Sansui, Sylvania, Zenith.

How to reset Olevia 232T without remote no remote

To adjust this TV you must have its remote control. If you wish to buy its original remote control, you have to contact the authorized service center. If you wish to buy a universal remote control, you should know about, which brand remote control have setup code to your TV/device brand. You should first make sure about the number of digits in the codes to your device have. There are 3-digit, 4-digit, 5-digit and even 2-digit codes. You can get this detail by the code list attached to every universal remote control. The brand name of the remote control you select isn't a matter; but, its code list should have setup codes to your TV/device brand, otherwise you can't set it up with your device. Check this link and note which brand remote control have set-up codes to your device brand, and buy that brand remote control, according to availability. I have a sony bravia kdl-37v5810. sound on loud no picture buttons dont work on set or remote have to unplug to switch off.

Two pieces of information:

First thing to try is unplug the set and a box or receiver if you use them for several minutes from power, then plug things back for power and see if that helps.

Second, Sony is one of the few companies who uses the same access code to reset all their sets for the last 20 years, if it comes on and responds to the Sony original remote you can try that,

set is off, Then with the remote Display, 5, volume up, and power.

If set comes on you should be in the service menu---do not by accident touch any buttons randomly : what you want to touch is 8 (reset or write should appear on the screen in red, then hit enter and the word should change to green and the set shut off.

turn back on with remote and see what happened or not.

Bush lcd42f1080p100hz remote will not turn tv on

I had come home about a week ago and pushed the power button from my remote but my tv did not respond. So I just went to the front panel and pushed power but once the tv turned on, the volume was on full blast! I used the front panel volume decrease to get the volume down, but when I stopped pushing the button, the tv increased its volume to full blast again by itself! Naturally I just turned the tv off for a few moments. I tried the remote again, no response again, so I used the panel power button. The tv volume was still full blast when it turned on but after I decreased the volume it stayed this time. The picture is and has been perfectly fine and the tv was working fine. The next day the problem started all over and now once we turned it off from frustration of having to manually use the panel to change channels, it now will not turn on at all. I have changed batteries from my remote, reprogrammed my remote, pushed system reset several times, unplugged it for a while, bought a new surge charge, and even held the menu and device panel buttons for 10 sec and tried to turn the t.v. on again! What other options do I have or what may be the issue at hand and possible parts that may need to be replaced?? Thanks!!

Forgot my password I cant watch any channels

Hi,

The easiest way is to reset the TV. There are 3 possible resets for this TV. press and hold Action and Power on the TV until self check appears-- then unplug the TV wait for 30 sec. then plug back in. The reset should take care of any channel lock/ game guard settings

Also Volume down on unit and sleep on remote. Same process wait for self check then unplug for 30 sec. plug back in and turn on.

Last Volume down on the unit and RH-Split on the remote-- same process
hope this will be helpfull. Please rates me . Goodluck...................

Panasonic sets need to be reset to clear the v-chip settings. To do this, put it in standby mode, then press the POWER and ACTION buttons at the same time and then turn the power off. The set should reset to the factory defaults, and reset the v-chip

My tv has no volume,i checked every cable connection and it all fine.I know my speakers are fine in the tv everything was fine until a button was pressed on one of the remotes the tv or the direct tv...

Remove all batteries from your remotes. Unplug the unit for several minutes. Plug unit in and use the controls on the set to turn it on and adjust the volume. This will eliminate the remotes. They could have a button stuck. If this does not work you may have a legitimate problem and need a tech.

Toshiba TV 35A44 Volume Issue

I had the same problem, you'll probably find that that particular button will push further into the set then the others, this is due to the a weakening of a cheesy metal guide which directs the projection off the back of the button into the corresponding microswitch. This metal guide will bend and will push against the switch. My solution, (and it ain't pretty) was to unplug the set, remove the button( I used a dremel cutting bit), locate the guide,a small metal plate with a hole in it. Bend the plate toward the front of the set then tape over the hole. I haven't had the problem since. You WILL have to use your remote for further functionality of the volume, However all of the buttons seem to be inherantly poorly designed and will weaken over time, AVOID USING THEM!
