When I was watching the tv it suddenly started to flash off and on and then finally will not even turn on

no help has to be checked out by elec person

Have you even replaced the bulb / lamp on this TV - other than the green light - did they turn solid red / orange at any point? My initial thought is you need to replace the bulb.

Main system control memory IC fault. This is a very small IC; have 8 solder terminals, and can be located very near to the main system control-chroma IC. Check and replace it. Be sure to replace it with the same number printed on it; in all respect. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. When lamp in TV got weak in result, standby light start blinking and if lamp got broken / dead, you will see lamp light ON.

The TV is on protect mode.

Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.

Also ensure that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending bad signal, check if you get same problem with no receiver box or dvd connected.

If that does not work, and you keep having a flashing led on front of the TV, and tv turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible reasons.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , startingthe flashing light.


If you are in situation one, then theTV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours,sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, a convergence IC has blown, or a fault on Digital board.

Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing state because of the video cable.

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

Firstly, unplug your tv for at least 4 hours. Over night is better. This is what we call a Hard or Master Reset.
This should solve your problem. If by chance it doesn't, then more than likely your power supply board is shot.

Have you tried covering the IR eye on the front of the TV when this starts occuring? Sometimes other devices in your home can emit infrared light that in rare cases can be picked up by your TV as a command from the remote. If covering the eye seems to stop the problem, I would say my guess is correct. If the problem continues even with the IR eye blocked I would say that the internal tuner of the TV might be defective. good luck!

For the first one, please list the model number and count the blinks. Also, can you please post each problem separately. It will get too confusing trying to address 3 sets with different but similar problems.
