Loud noise In the middle of agitating, the washer started making a loud squealing sound. It still agitates, spins and drains, but the squeal is quite loud.

Sounds like the absence of lubrication in the transmission. could be a bad bearing on the pulley side

FLC271W2 washer squeal during wash cycle

LOUD NOISES IN washing MACHINE;

LOT OF THINGS TO CHECK, THE BELT LOOSE OR WORN, THE CLUTCH, THE TRANNY, THE BEARINGS BOTH TUB SEAL AND BEARING, THE REAR DRUM BEARING,
THE DRIVE PULLEY- If the washer is making a loud noise the drive pulley might be worn out, cracked, loose or bent. Remove the drive pulley and inspect it carefully. If it is damaged or defective replace it.
THE TRANSMISSION, THE MOTOR COUPLER, THE MOTOR DRIVE BEARINGS,
THE DRIVE MOTOR- If the washer is making a loud noise the drive motor bearings may have worn out. Washer motors are normally almost silent when they run. If the motor is run without a belt hooked up to it and it's loud it will have to be replaced.

If the washer is making a loud noise the drain pump might be going bad or might have something caught in it. Remove the drain pump from the washer and inspect it carefully. Look for anything that might be caught in it, a piece of wire, plastic, etc. If nothing is wrong with the pump, but it's still noisy it will have to be replaced.

It sounds like the motor is heating up and tripping the overload. The squealing is probably coming from you pump. Tilt the washer back and turn the pulley for the pump by hand and if it make the squeal, replace. If it does not you may have a bad transmission.

GE Top Load Washer Loud Squealing Noise

Would check belt for tightness and it is also possible you have a dry bearing in pulley, motor etc.

Hi, our washing machine started making very loud banging and whining noise in the final spin cycle and the machine was shaking. We have taken off the back. The springs look ok. any suggestions?

Loud banging is usually an unbalanced load. whining noise is some times debris trapped in drain pump causing it to squeal like a fan belt on a car. Strings, threads and hoses tend to get wrapped under agitator and cause noise, too.

Load squeal when it in the agitation cycle.

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

Whirlpool washer spin cycle noise

Likely you need either an agitator repair kit or need to replace the direct drive clutch assembly. The drive coupler is a fail-safe device and generally fails for a reason. In order to repair the agitator, you will need to acquire an agitator hub nut wrench.

From the sounds of things, you are talking about a front loading dryer. The agitators in the dryer can get coins stuck inside them. Remove the top and rotate the drum to reveal the screws which hold the agitators to the drum. Remove the screws and the agitators, empty the coins or other debris and reinstall.

The loud squeal sounds like the pad under the open side of the drum is worn out. There may also be a dry main bearing in the rear of the dryer. Lubricate the bearing and reinstall the drum. The squeal should disappear.

If this is not a dryer or a front loading washer, none of these suggestions will apply, Sorry
