Hi Everyone, I am now so tired of my 1996 Toyota Camry 300sei, it is not even funny. Yesterday my wife wanted to go fetch the kids at school and naturally wanting to find the key to do so.........15min later she found the key at the front door where our 8 month old jack russel(Lola) left it after she made a chewing toy out of the remote. You can imagine my frustration, so I unlocked the car with the second key, there is a key for the ignition and a separate key for the door. This is where my problems started. Without the remote, I can't start the car and the people I phoned to fix the problem almost charged me halve the car's value, which is ridiculous as I can't afford it as this stage. Can someone please tell me how to bypass the alarm control unit so we can drive the car until the time we can fix it? Sarel

you need to reset alarm/immobiliser.lock car with remote, hold button down for 30 secs, then press/hold down unlock button, should reset.another way is with key in ignition/turned on, press alarm button down and hold for 30 secs.this resets immobiliser.toyota
systems vary..depending on market.

you may have to disconnect the battery for a minute or so ,this will reset the alarm. check your remote it does have a battery in it. otherwise you have to look for a fuse somewhere under the dash close to the fuse box.each one is diff. depending if it original toyota or aftermarket alarm.

just unplug the immobiliser unit. its behind the glove compartment for rhd models.
