SOURCE: Power Back generator model GT5250

You definitely have a carburetor problem.
If your carburetor has sat for a few months with fuel in it, the fuel may have gone bad. Fuel turns to turpentine after a while and leaves light yellow deposits behind. These deposits will keep your carb. from working properly. You need to dip the carb. in carburetor dip for a few hours to get rid of the deposits. You can also take the carb. to your local parts store where they may do it for free.
You may also have to replace the gasket and needle valve too if it has been sitting. So basically, you need to do a carburetor rebuild.
If the float sounds like it has liquid in it, you will need to replace it too.

Good Luck!
Jim

Oil type

If you are asking about the engine oil, generators like the 10W 30 weight oil, which is good for winter and summer use. . The brand doesn't matter to any gret extent. Just don't buy the el cheapo brand in the dollar store.

remove the tap from the tank
they have a habit of corroding internally and blocking the fuel flow
there is also a very fine filter in the end of the tap in the tank
do not use e-mix fuels as that fuel corrodes aluminium and rusts steel

My 5250 watt Power Back generator will not start, and their is no spark at the spark plug.

Have you check the engine oil level? If it is down on oil you won't get spark because of the oil level switch shutting the ignition down to protect it's self.

Motor runs wide open but no power from generator

You will need to install new diodes, they are located in the plastic housing behind the receptacles...It looks like little spark plugs..They work to put dc voltage to the rotor, without the exciter voltage applied, you will not get ac power out..The part number is 3483.01....You can buy these online for about $6 each, they have 2 inside the generator, and you should change both.
