If you stored it with fuel in it, the piston and cylinder may be stuck together. The old fuel turns to a gummy varnish. spray some WD-40 in to the cylinder through the spark plug hole and rock the flywheel back and forth to break it loose. Then flush the fuel system and carburetor. If that isn't the problem, remove the muffler and inspect the piston, rings, and cylinder for vertical scoring, if scoring is present a top end rebuild may be necessary.

if you've ran it for any length of time you will need a new cylinder and piston/rings and cylinder gasket ,
take the muffler off and look for scoring /scorching on the piston

clost the choke slightly and see if it smoothes out. If so then it is a lean condition. Check fuel lines and/ or rebuild carb
also check the screen in the muffler. If it is clogged clean it.

Do you mean the throttle lock? It is a basic mechanical lock. If it just spins I would assume that a chunk of plastic has broke off or the lever is misplaced. Take the throttle housing apart and identify the problem. New parts are available from your local Husqvarna dealer.

As you pull the cord do you feel a thud thud? if not you don't have compresion. However take the carb apart and clean it with carb cleaner it only takes one small peice of **** to cause trouble.Dennis
