relative frequency= (frequency/sum of all frequencies). The frequency can be expressed as a decimal number or a percentage. In that last case, the total of all frequencies will be approximately 100% (due to rounding errors).
You are talking about a HF (High Frequency) tranceiver, if your example is correct.
Assigning channel numbers to frequencies on a HF set, isn't possible on certain tranceivers in these bands, as there is no facility built in by default.
If you have the facility to store frequencies, I would do so in frequency order, that lowest frequencies first and gradually going up:
example:
4064 4960 5768 6770 7356 8560 9460 10210 14500
etc.,

That's the best practice, that way you know where each frequency is located and the band it's associated with.
A "band pass" filter attenuates all frequencies except those in its specified range. A "low pass" filter attenuates frequencies above a specified frequency (permitting only lower frequencies to "pass"). A "high pass" filter attenuates frequencies below a specified frequency (permitting only higher frequencies to "pass").
For example, a "band pass" filter rated for 500MHz-4GHz will effectively eliminate all frequencies below 500MHz and all frequencies above 4GHz. A "low pass" filter rated at 10KHz will effectively eliminate all frequencies that are above 10KHz. A "high pass" filter rated at 70Hz will effectively eliminate all frequencies that are below 70Hz.

you can find it easy with google, but here is how it works...the incomeing rf signal is mixed with a signal of another frequency from the local oscillator and then passes through a non linear device (semiconductor). after passing through the nonlinear device the output will contain the original frequency,the local oscillator frequency, and frequencies equal to those added together and subtracted from each other,these signals are then passed through filters to obtain only one which will be either the rf frequency plus the local oscillator frequency or the rf frequency minus the local oscillator frequency. This new frequency is then coupled to the intermediate frequency amplifier stages where most of the amplification takes place before the audio is removed and passed to the audio stages.
