Dishsoap stays in soap dispenser

I have a Whirlpool GU2200xtsq Quiet partner III bought in June, 2007. After it was installed I used dishwasher powdered soap (cascade). I noticed that frequently (maybe one time out of three) the dispenser door had not opened and the soap was still inside. At first I thought I had added to much soap to the closed door side and the door was sticking from too much soap. I made sure to wipe out any residue from the dispenser before I ran the dishwasher and only use the recommended level of soap. Sometimes that worked but often not. I switched to Cascade 2-in-1 Action Pacs Dishwasher Detergent which is a small package of dry soap and liquid soap that is placed in the soap dispenser side that closes. I'm finding that the door opens during the wash, but the pac is still in the soap dispenser almost entirely intact when the dishwasher has completed its cycles. It appears to be sticking to the the plastic wall of the dispenser. The dishes don't get clean since no soap is dispensed. I'm finding that I have to run the dishwasher two times (sometimes more) in order to get the dishes clean. I hope someone can offer a suggestion because I'm about ready to get a different model/manufacturer.

I'm having the same problem with the same unit. It's only 4 months old! When we open the washer at the end of the cycle everything is wet, the dispenser door is open, and the tablet of soap is intact and stuck in the dish.

I have a Frigidaire Gallery Refrigerator that was purchased in 2005. In the last few weeks a problem has been increasing steadily. The soap dispenser has left an increased amount of soap that has not dissolved. The dishes therefore are not getting clean and it is becoming more and more frustrating. I have had it checked out by a technician and he is still researching the probable cause. Please help!

I have the same problem with a bosch dishwasher - the catch releases but the soap doesn't dispense so the dishes remain unwashed. It is very frustrating.

Hey I am having the same problem with my Quiet Partner III. I just moved into this new rental house and used the unit for the first time and the clean light came on and stuck there till I went on the net and found out how to clear it. Then it just fills with water and doesn't do any more. The soap tray is still full of soap dishes are still dirty. I am a batcler I don't do dishes thats why they make dish washers. I am seeing the same problems everybody else is having with this same unit. I think Wirlpool has a recall problem and they better enforce. Help me I hate doing dishes.

Same thing happened to us. We noticed that it happened if the soap was left sitting before starting the washer. Since then, we immediately start the washer after putting soap in it and the problem appears to have gone away.

So much for the delayed start features, but at least the soap doesn't stick anymore.

good luck!

We had problems with soap remaining in the dispenser and dishes not getting clean when we used gel dish doap. We changed to the cakes of soap with a Jet Dry Power Ball in the middle, and now they clean fine.

Ok, either a spring, trigger prob, on the latch, or a electronic prob. ok so to see if the latch is ok (or not) look closely for soap residue and scum, that may be hindering the latch or spring under. use metho, and warm water to clean this part. secondly go down to a white goods repair place and take your electrical component, button, lights its all one unit, simple unscrew it, i do think you will need a set of torque screws for that tho... anyhow ask the guy to get you a new or second hand one and install it. the timer will run, and the clip will release. good luck!

I have the Whirlpool Quiet Partner III. It was installed new in July 2007. It is/was used on a regular-basis once a week. Dishwasher was running normally until 5-22-11. Now at end of a full cycle,...

Make sure your water temperature is hot enough to dissolve the soap. Generally, the water temp. should be 140 degrees. Run some hot water at the tap before you turn on the dishwasher. This will assure that hot water is in the dishwasher as soon as you start it. Be certain that there aren't any large pieces in front of the dispenser tray. Sometimes casserole dishes, frying pans or baking pans can block the door and prevent it from opening.
Also, the sprayer arms might be clogged with bone fragments, peelings, bits of paper, etc. If this is the case, you'll need to remove the sprayer arm, flush and then check the jets. If you see "stuff" in the jets, they can be remove with tweezers.
Finally, make sure the upper sprayer arm hose is securely seated with the tube in the back of the dishwasher that carries the water up to the sprayer arm hose. If these two are not seated correctly, the water will not travel into the sprayer arm hose, the sprayer arm will not turn and your dishes will not get clean! I hope this helps. If it does, please come back to Fixya and rate my advice.

Liquid soap mistakenly used - bubble explosion

Fill the detergent cup with fabric softener for a full cycle. Don't be alarmed if bubbles seep out.

Finish off with a white vinegar wipedown of the insides if it still feels soapy.

Dishes not thourghly cleaned on top sheelve

generally dishwashers rely on the pressure supplied by the water supply line. check to see if it is enough or if inlet pipe is of sufficient diameter for needed flow.in some instances i know of seperate lines needing to be run directly instead of coming off of supply to sink area.
