I don't know my tv age but when I went to hook the converter box to my tv the white and yellow cables didn't adapt to the openings in the back of my tv. The holes on the back of the TV are just openings with no metal or any other adaptors or parts. This is the way the tv came to me but I don't know if it is missing something or why the converter box cables don't fit the TV back openings.
Use coax to connect your tv to your converter box. Your antenna then gets plugged directly into your converter box. Every tv has coax, whether its the normal screw/plug in kind or with the 2 screws, if it has 2 screws on the back of your tv, you just need a 75 to 300 ohm transformer then you should be set to go.
