Phone willnot hold a charge

Can you receive calls on that phone? If you can't then it might be set for the wrong channel. Try disconnecting the battery for 60 seconds and reconnecting.
If that doesn't work, the call/talk physical switch may have something spilled in it. You'll have to take the phone apart and clean the rubber switch contacts. Simple q-tip and rubbing alcohol to clean it up. (don't rub hard as the carbon contacts can be rubbed off)

Have you try to use another charger to charge and it doesn't hold charge? if yes., no problem because it be that your charger is bad. But since it does not charge with another charger, it means the charging port is bad.

The problem with the phone is the charging port, the charging port of your phone is not charging the phone that is why it doesn't hold any charge,

All you need to do is to change the charging port of your phone and you will see that your phone will hold charge.

Since the battery and charger are new and yet it does not still hold charge.

Have put the battery in another similar phone and try to charge with your charger to see if it will hold charge? if you have.

It means the charging port of your phone is bad and you will need to replace it.

The charger is not charging the battery in anyway because the charging port is bad, so just change your charging port, your phone will now hold charge.

if your battery charge fully and only long with 2 or 3 hours it is normal don't worry no need to change.

but if you charge it and a minimum of 30 mins and it will drain need to chnage the battery unit.

It very well could be the charging port. As for getting samsung to repair for free, willnot happen. As long as it lasted through the warranty period they are satisfied with the design

With a bad charge port, You have 3 options.

1. get it repaired, warrant if possible
2. Get a new one
3.Get an external battery charger and charge battery separate from phone.Another battery and charger will set you back about 10 dollars on ebay.
