My hp pavilion tx 1000 notebook I get a black screen @ start up nothing else, I tried the suggestions @ hp tech, I reset the memory, I pressed the f10 key @ boot up nothing, I removed hard drive, nothing, I removed the a/c adapter and battery, also tried starting it without batt, to drain syst, is it my mother board? how would I know if it's my display monitor

Have you tried hooking up an external monitor? Or possibly the screen may be shut-off with on of the "function" key combinations? (Fn key plus the screen key)
If you removed the hard drive and still get nothing it is probably your motherboard. If this is the case you will see nothing on the screen at all. Possibly lights and fan may come on.
