Just recently I was watching Netflix via my Sony Bluray player. After a certain amount of time of inactivity the player shut off. When I turned it back on and tried to access Netflix again, I got a pop up saying "A network error has occurred. Do you want to set the internet settings?" When I go to the settings, it shows that my connections are fine. But just to be on the safe side, I went ahead and rebooted my router. When I tried Netflix again I got another popup saying "The service cannot be accessed at this time; reference code 303", whatever that means. I checked my iPad to see if Netflix was down but it work so I think it's my player. I tried turning it off and back on, no help. I tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, also no help. It's not giving me an option to deactivate my Netflix account, so I don't know what else to do.

Go to the settings in your DVD player and see if there is a Update section.
I know that when they make updates to the DVD players it also changes some of the network settings and causes issues.
Try updating the firmware in the DVD player first.
If you can't or don't have the option to update it, Than unplug the DVD player for 15 minutes than plug it back in and set up the network again and reattempt to connect.
Sometimes, if you are using a router and it releases an IP address you could just have a IP conflict with you DVD player and another device in the house that was used at the same time and they both ended up with the same IP address.
Or perhaps the IP address doesn't update in the router.
In either case a hard power off should correct this.
IF this doe not correct the issue you will need to contact Sony support to resolve this issue.

SOURCE: While trying to access Netflix account, Sony

This problem can also occur when Sony brings down their servers for maintenance. In my case it was NOT a NetFix problem.
This happened to me at 7:00pm Pacific time, which is a really bad time to take down a server for maintenance. I did get through to technical support with minimal delay. Support was no help, other than to confirm that the service was down. So it was not an account or BluRay player problem. Just wait 2-3 hours and the service will come back.
I was also told that the servers com down for maintenance about twice a month!
The tech support number is: 239-768-7547. I recommend calling early and often. If customer frustration is registered frequently enough, Sony may elect to deploy redundant servers so they can do maintenance with out shutting down the service for all of their customers.

When watching shows on Netflix my screen will act like it's going to sleep and then a box pops up "self test feature check"

If this is a "switching" type of monitor check your settings, and update your drivers in the operating system. You could be having Board problems as well.

If this only happens watching long videos and never in windows I would suspect these things.

I would also suggest turning off your screen saver, and making sure the machine is not set to turn off the monitor after a certain amount of time. If you don't move the mouse in 30 minutes, some software might think the machine is inactive.

Link netflix to sony bluray

You may have to reset the player to original factory condition, know your Netflix account username and password, or reset your password if you only know your username.

Hi I have a Panasonic DMP-BDT210 and was watching netflix and now when I press the netflix button I get this message: "We are unable to connect you to netflix. Please try again or visit...

Netflix is quite helpful and I would try contacting them to see what they say. You must have high speed and if there is a variance, it won't work. (866)579-7133 is their number. You can at least rule out a problem on their end. You can contact them via internet also.

Full screen probs with netflix

This has nothing to do with Netflix, you would get the same result with any DVD regardless of its origin. Chances are that is the laptop trying to revert to a screen saver or power save mode during the movie.

Check your laptop's power and screen saver settings. If you are experiencing the problem every 3 minutes or so, your screen saver is most likely scheduled to go on after 3 minutes of inactivity. The same goes for your monitor-- it may try to dim or turn off after a certain amount of time.

To change these settings to a longer delay, go to your desktop and right click. Select "Properties". Choose the "screen saver" tab, and change the "wait:" field to a higher number. Or, just turn the screen saver off by selecting "(none)" under the screen saver dropbox. You may also click "Power" and change the time for "turn off monitor" to "never", or a longer amount of time.
