Please chck if there is any other bootable device connected with the computer ie the printer,camera,usb pen drive , a cd/dvd or a floppy disc etc...
if they are connected then please try disconnecting them from the computer & then try turning it on....

please rate my suggestion...i will be glad....

My desktop compaq presario s4300nx starts up , i can accses set up with f1 but cant start recovery with F10 however the F10 button works in setup, no good to me, ...i have recovery disks the pc just...
you will need a Windows boot disk / Windows install disk / WinXP disk to reboot the PC and install / or repair your OS

rescue disk will not boot your PC
to enable that you need to enter the BIOS, press F1, F2 or Del to enter BIOS , then you need to look for the BOOT seq in BIOS, change that to CD DVD drive as the 1st boot device, Save and Exit and insert the boot CD and restart
this should give you the solution

Don't press f1.
Press f2 and take a look at the computers setup and save it.

I hane brand new Western Digital my passport 500gb hard drive. was working fine but today when ever i try to open it massege appeears, adminstrator has restricted this computer to access USB/1394 mass...
If this is a USB unit, and you have moved the plug from one port to another, this situation occurs. I would disconnect it, reboot the PC and reconnect it again.

Need to set back to factory settings
There are a few ways you can do that, when you start up your pc at the top left corner it will say press f11 for recovery, it will only give you a few seconds to press it, if you press it you will be given options on how to start your recovery, or you can goto your start menu goto programs then scroll to system recovery, or you can restart your pc with the recovery disc that came with laptop to start system recovery.
