Hi.

There are different kinds of concrete coating. The choice of product varies, depending if the wall is interior or exterior and on the location of the wall (for example the product used in a bedroom's wall will be different from the coating adopted in a garage).

Epoxy coating are great products that can be used in exterior or interior. Epoxy products however may smell and trigger allergies. Epoxy is one of the strongest coating for exteriors.

If the space is a living room, then it is probably better to use acrylic cement. Acrylic coatings do not smell and do not release volatile compounds. Acrylics look similar to Portland cement and are generally less strong and adherent than epoxy paste.

The application method is usually illustrated in the coating product's container. The procedure consists in cleaning the wall (you can use a power washer), applying the product with a trovel, and then checking the results after 24 hours or when prescribed in the coating's instructions.

After applying the coating you can finish the wall with paint and sealer product.

How do I fix rotted wooden expansion joints in my driveway?

there is a tuberous strip that is used as expansion joints in concrete. To get the correct thickness you may have to use several strips together. they are normally black in colour and you may have to lay in several strips first and then use something like a bolster ( brick cutter) to drive in the last strip. Talk with your concrete supply shop for advice and products ( shop that sells concreting tools and products.)
grout will crack out at that thickness. Because you have such a wide gap (2'' or 4''). I would make up a good concrete mix using bondcrete ( brand name for concrete glue) in the mix and use that with a strip of black jointer either side
Seeing how the timber lasted 40 years if you used treated timber this time it will last another 40 years -probably longer.

Hyow to waterproof a basement wall...

You have to start outside.
First regrade slope of soil away from foundation. Add a drain and tile to direct water away from house.
If necessary dig down along foundation wall and add membrane.
In the basement, add a sump pump to pump out water to keep moisture out.
Clean basement wall, and add some waterproofing paint.

Can I fill an old wood stove pipe going through the concrete foundation wall with concrete mix? It is above outside grade so wondering if i can remove the pipe, block the inside and fill it from outside....

Im not sure about what you are calling the pipe block but if the out side is above grade use hydrolic cement mix or water plug get out all loose meterial it will bond find just don;t let water get in from out side because if it freezes the ice will expand and crack the repair and over time will start to leak you may want to seal the repair from the outside with a product called water stop i think thats what its called inselx is the co. that makes it then top coat it On the inside you can do what ever works and looks good as long its not leaking from the out side it will last

How can I repair cracks in a concrete porch?

If this is on top or below (soffitt) If the cracks are movement or shrinkage when poured you can cut with Diamond grinder in a V type and then patch with a epoxy and sand fillers. If they are bigger you can use a repair motar .Your local hardware should have these in basic form.

Trying to drill a solid concrete 10 inch wall

the ideal sollution is to fully service the machine but there may be a quick fix.
remove the 4 screws that hold the black plastic handle assembly, and take the handle off. on the top of the drill you will see an oil filler cap. unscrew using a 10mm allan key.
empty out any old oil. rinse out with some parafin if you like. empty out again . put some new oil in and replace the cap. 50cc of transmission fluid / power steering oil will do the trick. if this dousnt fix it then you will need to replace the o-rings on the pistons, if this is the case, drop me a email and I will send you a parts diagram. paul@wysehire,gi
good luck.
