If it behind the ice maker more than likely its the evaporator fan that is making the noise.

BUZZING NOISE FROM MY HEAT PUMP

Take a look at this YouTube page that explains with good videos what are some of the common problems with heat pump noise. The one that seems dominant is the defrost cycle a heat pump goes thru when it melts ice off the evaporative coils. In defrost cycle, The compressor runs but the cooling fan does not, so you will hear a loud buzzing sound and the unit sounds like it is stalled...because only the compressor is running to generate heat to melt coil ice.

Not making Ice

Are you getting any heat from the condenser? Sounds like the buzzing is the compressor failing to pump.

Buzzing sound

If noise stops when you open the door, you may have a noisy fan (or could have ice build up, causing fan blade to hit ice and cause noise). I gather it is a frost-free model ie has a fan in the freezer compartment. If noise is caused by fan hitting ice build up, you may have a problem with the auto defrost system, as you should not get ice build up in a frost free.
Noise stops when you open door because fan turns off when door is opened.

A buzzing noise comes on every 2 mins for about 45 seconds

2 things, eithere the ice maker is "calling for water" and your not hiiked to a water supply. in which case simply turn of ice maker till you restore water to the machine.
ohter noise sounds if perhaps the compressor is not cycling correctly, overheating, nad when tries to restart you hear it try for 10 secs or so, then click off. in which case youll seee the freezer stating to lose "cool" especially "wet ice" and/or soft ice cream products.. if this is the case you can try to clean the coils under/behind the refrig, and may need to replace the starting device mounted to the side of the compressor

A loud intermitant buzzing coming from the back of the fridge

either the noise is coming form he ice maker fill valve( but if its of and still aking noise i doubt it. it also possible that the noise is coming from the compressor itself, overheating nad trying to restart in which case would give a slight "buzz" noise for 5secs or so then "click" off, and wait maybe 3 min to restart again. look for melted ice andperhaps your ice dream ont as hard as it should be???

Loud Buzzing Noise from Behind Freezer

Sounds like the freezer fan blade is hitting on a build up of ice or frost. You may have a defrost issue, or it may be a one time thing, like the door was open for a long time (object holding door partially open) or also check the ice dispenser duct door to make sure it is closing. Sometimes a chunk of ice hangs up in the ice shoot, allowing moist air to enter freezer, resulting in the extra frost / ice near the freezer fan. You might also check the door gaskets, especially the bottom side where sugary liquid spills might cause a gasket to tear. #2: Long run times: If cooling is good, don't worry. Older refrig's often ran less time, but used much more electricity than the newer refrig's, even though new one run longer. (Like having a 40 watt light bulb on for 20 hours a day uses less electricity than having a 100 watt bulb on for 10 hours a day)

Dispenser

Sounds like a control fault on the microswitch to activate the ice and water line. Access to this is immediately behind the ice dispenser section (just above) on the freezer door. Normal access is two screws located behind the removal drip tray section. Either that or the control board for the ice dispenser as you are not getting water as well. Before taking this section apart though you should hear a buzzing sound when you activate the chilled water, if you do then you may have a water supply problem. Hope this helps.

Refrigerator Buzzing

if my guess is correct, that buzzing sound could be coming from the evaporator fan touching the ice that builds up in the evaporator. if that is true, a quick remedy for the noise to disappear is to thaw the ice, unplugged it for a while but as ice builds up again, then the noise would come back. the original problem would be the defrost cycle not functioning well. will be in touch if my guess is correct. thanxs,
