Make sure you *don't* have "white balance" set to "fluorescent" or "custom". "Auto" is best to be on the safe side. Fluorescent white balance will cause blue tint in most light sources (apart from fluorescent ;)
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: I have a Panasonic Lumix

With autofocus digital cameras, blurred photos are almost always a result of camera shake. You need to hold the camera still even after pressing the button, as there is often a short delay before the shutter fires.

Many digital cameras have a two-stage shutter press- first pressure causes the camera to focus, then the follow through pressure takes the picture. If you are rushing this, you may get unfocussed shots.

Finally, make sure that you have not left the camera in Macro mode. This is a special extreme close-up mode offered by some cameras, and it does not allow autofocus on object at normal distance.

My DMC-TZ40 will only turn on if I remove an reinsert the battery. Any ideas?

Possibly the contacts either on the batteries or within the battery compartment in the camera have become dirty. Try cleaning them gently with a cotton bud - no need to use any solvent, the slight abrasive action of the cotton fibres should be sufficient.

How to take sharp pictures

Many people new to digital move too quickly after taking a photo. I usually tell people I teach to count , 1-2. After depressing the shutter button. Often clears up many peoples photos. You can also try bracing the camera against things around you to stop small. Movements as you depress the shutter. Sometimes a walking stick to rest the camera on the top of as you take a photo helps.

Lumix DMC ZS30 vertical lines on display. Is it display or something else?

Since the pictures are ok, it doesn't appear to be the sensor. What happens when you bring up the menu? Do you see the lines then? If so, then it most likely is the display.

Reading imposible and unable to read the card SD D was (bleep) compromise

If you think there should be important pictures on the card, please don't do a thing till you recovered them.
For that use an external card reader on your computer. If there are no pictures on the card, please try to format it in the camera.
Also, if it won't work in the camera, first try to format it (FAT32) on your computer and then again format it in the camera. Also check you did not switch the card to the lock position.

Can't download photos from Panasonic Lumix ZS30 camera to pc with Windows XP Media Center edition

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa:
Organize edit and share your photos
