If you find water in the dryer and vent line you need to have the dryer and vent line cleaned out,and this should be done once a year.all a dryer does is move air,if the hot air can't be blown to the out side the mosisture from the clothes will get stuck in the lint that's been building up,usually you'll blow the thermal fuse or high linit t-stat when this happens.also if you say it's making a bad sound the blower wheel could be broke.remove the vent line from the back of dryer, start it and see if any air is blowing out ,if you send the model number i can tell you how to take the dryer apart.but you need to check the blower wheel,if that's ok you have to unplug the dryer, pull out the lint filter, remove the duct the lint filter slides into, clean out the inside cabinet, then blow out the vent line if it's long, also go outside,if there's a cage or anything blocking the outside duct remove it and don'r put it back, all it will do is collect lint.

SOURCE: My Maytag dryer makes an aweful noise.
Typical parts that wear out and get noisy on that model are the two drum rollers (part # 12001541), the front drum glides #306508, the idler pulley Y303705 and the blower wheel 303836. None of these parts are very expensive, but to do all of them would definitely add up to the point that you might want to think about whether or not you want to keep the machine in operation especially after 10 years of good service.
