Hi , you have to check that you might need a new battery charger. The new battery the bought had a charge then you used it up it sounds like your charger might have the light on but is not charging.
Does the battery pack work? Leaving it on the charger for 24 hours shouldn't hurt the pack (too much) since the charger shuts off when the pack is fully charged. The most likely result would be a slight reduction in the capacity, but it should still work.
You shouldn't need to order another battery pack unless it no longer works.
Possibly from leaving the gps charging too long the battery may not be able to hold a charge. Best suggestion would be to always use with car charger when you travel with it.
You tom tom uses a lithium ion rechargeable battery that lasts at least four hours after charging it fully. To charge it fully, you need to connect it to a charger and allow it to charge for about 2-3hours, if he battery is weak it will loose charge easily loosen its strength easily and if it is dead, it will not hold a charge at all.
What exactly is wrong with your battery? if it is not holding a charge, then i will advice you you first try to use it on another device and plug it for about 2 hours before using it in there, if it works, then it means your battery is still working perfectly fine, but if it does not, then it means the battery is dead and needs to be replaced.
Test your charger also by using it on another device to see if it will charge the device, if it charges it, then it means your charger is alright, but if it does not, then it means the charger is faulty that is why it is not charging the battery. And all you have to do is replace the battery.
Also you need to test the device, by fixing another well tested battery into it, and using a well tested charger on it, if it does not come on, or seem to charge, then it means there is a problem with the connection port or something with the unit.
Hi, leaving the unit in the cradle exposed to the sun during hot days has been known to fry the battery causing loss of battery capacity. perhaps this could be your problem. I replaced the battery in my last GPS 4 times because of this before I analysed the problem. This will most likely be outlined in your user manual too. You might also compare the output capabilities between your blackberry and tomtom charger - it is entirely possible that you are starving the unit of a decent charge if the blackberry charger is not to the same current capacity as the tomtom charger.
If it will not stay charged then the battery is defective, these type of batteries have an average life of 2 years, less if they are run dead allot, more if they are left on the charger and kept fully charged between uses.
try charging the tom tom fully and then reset while it is charging. a tom tom will not reset unless the new battery is fully charged which may take some time if you only have a car charger.
I have the same tomtom and it has the same problem. Sorry to say it is the battery. You cant change it it has to go to Tom Tom. I just bought a new one. Hope this helps.
