First use "add gps" and add the original unit and the H20

use "receive from gps" to call in the original waypoint file from your sd card

use "send to gps" to save the new waypoint file to the sd card

remember that the original gps file may contain more waypoints than the H20 can hold so you may have to delete some waypoints from the file while in EasyGPS

if this is not clear enough, let me know and I will try again. I use the program all the time.
I just realized I left something out. EASYgps does not like the Lowrance HDS File version so an extra step is required if you are transferring files from an HDS to an IFinder. Save your HDS waypoints as Version 3 to the SD card and EASYgps will accept them

SOURCE: Loading Maps

There is an update for MapCreate to work with VISTA. Go to http://www.lowrance.com/en/Downloads/Product-Software-Updates/MapCreate-7-Windows-Vista-Update/ to download.

The ENHANCED LAKE MAPS are already built into MapCreate 7 so if you can get it working with VISTA with the update, you may have what you need.

MapCreate is mostly land based mapping so may not do much good on thewater.

The Enhanced lake mapes are only on certain lakes.
Go to http://www.lowrance.com/en/Products/Mapping/Enhanced-Lake-Maps/Downloads/ for a list of available lakes.
These Enhanced Lake Maps have depth contours but are not as good as Navionics, or Fishing Hot Spots, or LakeMaster charts.
Go to http://www.lowrance.com/en/Products/Mapping/ to see mapping options.

If you can get MapCreate 7 working on your computer, try it out. If you decide you need better mapping you can always get a better mapping card later.

SOURCE: Micro sd card not showing up on the gps

Have you got GB Discoverer on the card? The map should appear on the Map Information list in the Setup > Map area. Double check the placement of the map card. Also, in case you have not found it yet, there's wealth of information on the Oregon Wiki here: garminoregon.wikispaces.com

I have a ifinder hunt GPS, it will not locate any satellites, it then prompts me to stop searching or continue to search for satellites. I have been trying this device over the last 10 months, mostly on...

With a normal GPS device, when you first switch it on, it needs some time to locate enough satelites. Most of the time it needs at least 5 satelites. Some time should be like minutes and not hours. After the GPS device fond enough satelites, it knows where it is and can when it is switched on again work faster. When you try to let the GPS search for satelites indoors, or without a free view to the sky, it is possible the receiver never can find satelites at all.
I don't know if any test of the Lowrance iFINDER Hunt GPS was placed on the net, but that is where you can check how long it should take for the GPS to find enough satelites.

MapCreate Topo does not have lake maps. There are 'some' maps on Lowrance's web site (Free Enhanced Lake Maps) but you may need to purchase lake maps on SD cards for the area you're interested in.

I cannot bring up a marine chart showing depth and markers on my

Marine maps must be installed on SD cards. The base-map does not contain marine maps. Most on-line or brick-and-mortar hunting/fishing stores carry map cards for Lowrance units.

How large of an SD card will a Lowrance IFinder express accept? Can a 1gb card be used?

iFinder is the king of GPS devices with respect to memory. Though 1 gb looks a little bit too much for it in the time being and may well hang the phone .
You can purchase MMC cards with up to 128MB or SD cards with up to 64MB of memory

Hope this helps

Map loading from SD card

Yes go to the Lowrance web site and down load the fix to a sd card , put the sd card in the i finder and it will update it automaticlly. I have not done it for map create 7.0 but have for map create 6.3. On the web site look under suport or downloads and you should find it. There is also a lot of free lake maps that you can download to sd card also. Good luck

Lowrance 500c screen

Original manufacture only, unless you want to take a chance and search eBay or something like that for used parts. The used or recycled part you buy may have a defect.

Can't get position fix

Check to see if the date and the start point location where you are located are properly set. The GPS needs close enough location and date to know where it is starting from.

Read the instructions about the initial setup.
