Our wash machine will not spin after draining the water.

No matter how big or small the load. Electrical is good. Water supply is good. High eff soap always used. About 2 years of age. Error messages F21 and 5D. Whirlpool duet frontloader. Is the motor out or bearings, what do you think? Thanks for any help in this matter!

If this is really the old 9150 version then f21 is a ccu communication error with user interface. likely ccu is bad. 5d is not a error code.
bearings will make noise when out. unplug wait 1 min the reconnect power. If this doesnt work open top cover and check connections on ccu in rear. (unplug and replug). then buy new control. if your machine is newer duet (wfwxxxx) then f21 is different. (pressure sw) tech sheet on bottom front cover.

Water leaking on fast spin

hi Eamon.
this is what i found from the internet.
Washing machine leaks on spin Last updated on February 6th, 2017
Sometimes a washing machine leaks on spin, but not before. If this is the case, either it's going into spin with too much water inside, or something may only be leaking under the pressure and tub movement caused by spinning.
If you can see water running out of the soap drawer during spin it's probably gone into spin without pumping the water away properly. If it wasn't pumping water out at all it would not go into spin, but a partial obstruction can reduce the flow enough to allow a spin with the water unable to escape fast enough. This causes water to be forced up into the drawer or out of the steam vent at the back. If you suspect this check the last section of this article - Washer leaks from drawer
If water is coming from underneath when it spins then it's more likely to be caused by something leaking only under pressure. Check the door seal all around inside for slits and small holes, especially higher up, which may only open up and let water out when the washer is bouncing around on spin.
Other possible causes are hoses inside the machine which have small holes which open up during spin or which leak where they connect to the tub under spin conditions. These type of leaks often leave tell-tale rust or dry detergent marks. After that there could be a crack or small hole high up in the plastic outer tub which only gets exposed to water when it's forced around the tub during spin.
You are looking for something that is moving and allowing water out when the tub bounces around under load, or something high letting water out when it gets thrashed around the top half of the machine on spin. If you can't see anything obvious get a washing machine engineer

Also check your drain line for any debris or blockage and remove.

It's possible that the machine thinks it's empty (or full) due to a gummy clog in the level switch system.

Does the machine drain at all? If so, try running the machine with a cup of vinegar and the hottest water temperature possible.

Does not fill with water? power is on , filters

Yes, it is normal. There is water in the machine. One of the big draws for this style machine is that they use much less water than top load machines. If you stopped the cycle and opened the door, dug down in the clothes, you would find water. The machine fills a small amount of water (below the level of the door) and tumbles. As the water is absorbed by the clothing, the water level drops, so the machine adds more to maintain the water level. This is basically how the washer figures out how big your clothes load is and how much water that load needs. (Of course most sales persons at the big box stores and Sears have no idea how this works)
If you'd like, try running a cycle with no clothes to see how much water is in the machine. (It's not a lot) Now remember this: Because there is so much less water use than a top load machine, you must cut way way way back on the amount of soap and fabric softener used. Use no more than one tablespoon of HE (High Efficiency) soap (even less if it is 2x or 3x concentrate) and one teaspoon of fabric softener per load

GE Top Load Washing Machine -- Agitator will not cycle

Agitator's don't spin on wash cycle.

I would suggest washing the clothes without soap until they rinse clear. If you have hard water, the soap will not easily rinse out of clothes, or off of you when you use soap to wash or shower.

Reduce the amount of soap you use in each wash if this is the case. It sounds like your washing machine is working right.

Washer will hum and will not drain water out!

You will have to either look under the machine or take the back off.
You will see the big motor which does the washing.
You will also see a small motor which drains the machine.
Disconnect the power supply and remove the pipes from the small motor.
It could be blocked up from congealed washing powder.
Or something may have blocked the pipe from the drum to the drain motor.
If it all looks ok and still doesn`t work, then the motor has siezed.
Very easy to replace
good luck

GE Front Loading Washing Machine seems to be holding water....

The high speed spin of a front load washer should normally do a good job of getting squeezing out the water but if there is an oversudsing condition that makes it hard for the drain pump to operate then the suds and water will just stay there. First make sure there is no actual clog in the drain line then run a load with no soap or detergent and see what happens. It's always better to use a low suds detergent with this type of machine

Washer shakes, as if out of balance, after all water is drained

Biggest problem i get on the front load machines are spinning and draining problems. First thing to check is make sure your soap is not foaming up. If you see alot of suds in the machine when it is washing switch brands h.e. soap is best but he liquid tide has been a big problem with suds. Next make sure you put equal size items don't mix heavy and light items in machine as this may have off balance issues! Next check the coin and pintrap if it has one some machines have filters on the front of the machine that need cleaning. After these have been checked see if the machine has any unusual noises or odors when used rubber burning odor or electrical odor when in use may indicate a overloading or internal problem with the machine.

Is the drain path free-flowing? That is, does the water eject freely during spin/rinse? Maybe there's a restriction in the line, or it's too high above the washer.
