I am looking for the owners manual for the pioneer 506pu.
My lap top has blue ray and i want to hook into the tv the tv has no usb connection do i go into the cable box???
If your laptp has Blue Ray DVD it likely has an HDMI out jack. Connect this to the HDMI input of you tv. If you TV does not have and HDMI jack but had a DTV jack then get an HDMI to DTV adaptor.

If you're using HDMI cables, which I suggest you do, this is how you set it up. From the TV, you'll connect an HDMI cable to your receiver. Connect the blu-ray player to your receiver. There's a small amount of setup required with the receiver, but it's self explanatory.
your reciever does not have hdmi, so the audio is not going to be true DD+ or DTS for broadcast tv.
if your dvd/blue ray player has digital optical spdif, this can be used to transfer the encoded DD+/DTS digital audio.
the besat way to run your tv audio through the reciever is to hook up the dvd/blue ray player up with (perferrably) digital optical spdif, composite spdif or (least favorably) through the stereo stereo analog inputs on the reciever for "dvd" audio in and hook the video from the dvd/blue ray up to the corresponding "dvd" video component input on the reciever.
this way is only going to get your dvd/blue ray sound, next you need to hook up your cable box to the reciever so that you can get broadcast tv sound. hook up the cable box audio to the "tv" stereo analog audio ins, and hook the video to the corresponding "tv" video component inputs.
the component video inputs have separate jacks for red, green and blue ( labeled "Y" "Pb" and "Pr") and are capable of carrying a 1080p full hd signal. use the component video outputs on the reciever to output the video signal to a component video input on the tv, using the receiver's input selector to change the video source.
This is not an answer , rather a ? , I have the same model , after hooking it up to a projector using s-.video , I can't get back to normal so it'll play blue ray movies , only hear sound , but no visuals , I'm using hdmi cable from blue ray player to tv , any help out there ?
When using the HDMI connections you may have to tell the DVD to output to that port. Also you may have to connect additional sound cables from the DVD output to the TV.
on the rear of the receiver, hook your red, yellow andwhite cable to the input labled DVD and match the corosponding colors to the DVD player output. if your using component hook up match red, green and blue on both units and also a component cable to your tv
