Symantec is known for having the best pay for antivirus known as Norton Antivirus. There are also a handful of other competitors that are almost as good but not quite, namely PCTools, BitDefender, Webroot, etc. there are also several free options available such as Microsoft Security Essentials, AVG, Avira, and Avast! antivirus. I hope that helps clarify some things.

What you need is a good Antivirus or Antivirus. Its usually very benefiting when you have Antivirus installed in your PC from the first day you start working with a computer especially a computer that is hooked with internet or/and is being used with media that is of an unreliable source and may be infected.
You can try removing viruses from your computer but if the Viruses has occupied heavily certain part of the root partition then the antivirus will not be able to help you and you will have to clean install your OS (Windows or Linux etc). Do not forget to update your Antivirus with latest update.
To start with a good and a Free antivirus you can try AVG before you purchase a complete version of any good Antivirus with full features.

hi,

Symatech antivirus cpu usage is very high if your system is not a high configuration it makes slow.
the newer versions of nortorn antivirus are good and fast like nortorn antivirus 2010 so try latest version by removing old. or try avast anivirus which is very fast and working very good.

Antivirus 2008 is an adware program - a form of virus. You should be able to get rid of it using a good antispyware program or something like norton antivirus. If you do not have a program installed I suggest you try using spyware doctor:

That will help remove antivirus 2008. I also suggest you install an antivirus program if you do not already have one. I good free option is AVG antivirus:

Together these programs should help solve your problem and prevent further virus infection.

AVG free is so poor. i have use one antivirus. And it help me repair my friend Pendrive. Any virus can be removed. Trend Micro is what i talking about.
