If the display lights do not come on at all then more than likely the Motor Control Board is dead, a replacement can be expensive so if your machine is over 5 years old think about replacing it. Remember you get 2 years warrany on all F&P machines. Most importantly make sure you are getting power to the machine by trying something else is the power outlet like a hair dryer.

I was using my Janome 1600p with the surestitch regulatr .I was practicing since it is new, with no problems.Shut the machine and regulator off for approx. 1 hr,and it would not work at all.

You tried disconnecting the stitch regulator?

No, try machine without regulator.

Yes, make sure you have power at the wall socket. Unplug sewing machine and plug in a lamp, radio, or vacuum to test for power. If power at wall socket, then plug sewing machine back in to wall socket. If still no power, disconnect and reconnect power cord at machine end. If still no power, try cycling the sewing machine ON/OFF switch a few times.

If still no power then likely the internal fuse or other.

Frequently power down

1. Power off the printer and computer and then disconnect the interface cable.

2. Power the computer back on.

3. Once the computer has booted, power the Brother machine back on.

- If the computer still reboots, restarts, shuts down, or enters hibernation mode, this problem is related to the power source for the Brother machine and computer. Continue to the next step.

4. If the Brother machine and computer are plugged into the same surge protector, uninterruptible power supply, or power backup device, power everything off.

5. Unplug the Brother machine power cord from the power device.

6. Plug the Brother machine power cord directly into a wall outlet or a different surge protector strip. You may need to use the reset button on the power device.

7. Power the Brother machine and computer back on.

MFC-8710DW has no power

If your Brother machine does not appear to have power, then check whether or not the date and time appear on your Brother machine's LCD. If anything is displayed on your Brother machine's LCD, then it is most likely receiving power. If your Brother machine's LCD is blank, continue to Step 2.
Verify the Brother machine's power cord is connected securely to the power outlet. If you are using a surge protector, extension cord, or power switch, disconnect it and plug the Brother machine directly into the wall outlet.
Please note Brother strongly recommends that you connect your machine to a surge protector.Because To protect your investment against power surges and lightning,
In particular, we suggest that you use a surge protector that is compatible with both standard A.C. power cords and telephone line cords. Surge protectors equipped with telephone jacks will assist in insulating your machine from any power surge that might travel through a telephone line.
If the Brother machine is turned OFF, its LCD will be blank. Please make sure the Brother machine is powered ON by pressing and holding the On/Off or Power Save key. This key is located in the upper-right corner of the control panel.
If your Brother machine's LCD is still blank, connect it to a completely different, known working power outlet. If the Brother machine powers up, then the problem is related to the original outlet.
-OR-
Confirm the power outlet is working by plugging another known working device (a lamp, radio, etc.) directly into the same outlet. If the other device does not work, the problem is related to that power outlet. If a wall switch controls the outlet, verify that the switch is ON.
If your Brother machine still will not power on, please contact Brother Customer Service.

My Pfaff model 1211 machine won't come on. The power switch has been replaced but no light and no power for stitching

Sounds like a bad connection somewhere as the power seems intermittent. Consult your repair man to check the electrics.
