SOURCE: MONITOR HAS WHITE SCREEN IN SLEEP MODE
Hello sillypw...Try using the monitor, on a different PC, Try lowereing contrast to 60% or lower. and the brightness to 50%
Check that there is no damage to the cable and connectors.
If none of that helps... the monitor itself is likely, possible faulty panel or invertor board.
Good luck...i hope this helps.

Contact Dell service center for changing settings in monitor, on site. Not a big problem.

SOURCE: Have a Dell E228WFP monitor keeps going into power save mode.
does it go into power save mode with your actually doing something. Like for instance if your typing does it go into power save mode? If its going into power save mode when your not doing anything on it then its as simple as a setting either on the monitor itself or in the power settings within your computer accessible by the control panel and screensaver
Your computer monitor or laptop screen will enter sleep mode after your computer remains idle for a set period of time. You can disable sleep mode if you prefer the screen to remain illuminated. You merely need to change a setting in the Windows Power Management properties box.
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
Click "Start" and "Control Panel".
Click "System and Security" and "Power Options". This will bring up a new dialog box.
Click the menus to the right of "Turn off the Display" and set them both to "Never". This will disable sleep mode.
