Telefunken tv tv on child lock when stepped on... is original remote but no child lock function, only the usual plus display, system, and thats it.

You can try pressing channel up & down buttons at the same time, holding for a few seconds,
Or unplug the set for a few hours. While it is unplugged, press and hold the power button for 5 long full seconds. Then wait half hour more and plug back in to see if it resets itself.
You can also buy an original replacement remote on many websites.

i had same problem with telefunken ttv2931 child lock, tried turning off power,holding power button on and pressing each button, found by accident that holding down the display button for 5 to 10 seconds worked.

To unlock the Panel Lock, Parent Lock, or Child Lock, follow these steps:

It sounds to me like a child lock function, which is usually what the screen + padlock is on TVs. Usually your original remote would have a button / sequence to unlock the mode.
