Missing cd changer magazine

I have a 1991 xj6 sovereign that was built in 10/90. It came with a factory installed cd changer in the trunk. When I got it the magazine was missing. I have searched the internet and dealerships for a replacemtent magazine. I can't even get an equivalent part. Can anybody tell me where I can find one or what the model # I need to look for?

Most cd changer magazines are the same, the best way to find a replacement is the goto an audio/video retailer and speak with an agent about trying some in your cd changer.

i had to do the same thing for my 07 mercedes c230 due to the fact i wasnt paying $150 for a piece of plastic

How to remove cd changer

If it's a factory unit, call Ford dealership and tell them your vin and they should be able to tell you what magazine it takes. To remove, there's 2 screws at the bottom of the center console, inside next to cd player, under rubber mat.remove them and complete plastic trim, console bucket, will lift out.might have to wiggle it a little but will lift, then there's 4 screws holding bracket for cd player. Unplug and remove. You maybe able to see part number without removing player

2007 ford taurus air bag light on after replacing stereo

The CD changer option is similar to the single-disc player. The CD changer has the ability to toggle between the stereo and the multi-disc changer. In the 2007 Ford Taurus, the CD changer is located either in the vehicle's trunk or in the center console and has a magazine that can hold up to six CDs.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My CD players says check magazine when magazine is already in there.....

My 1999 Beetle did the same thing. I didn't have any luck repairing it, even tried a different magazine but nothing helped. Fortunately I found someone local selling a used trunk-mounted CD changer for $10, so I bought that and it worked like a champ.

So for me, I ended up having to replace the CD changer to fix this problem. Hope you have better luck.

Getting E-1 error message for radio

Well I had a 1990 Xj6 with an aftermarket cd-changer in the trunk and it didn't work, so when I took it to an audio specialist he said that it needed to be replaced. But what he did say is that most manufactures use the same connection cables for their products, ex. Sony plugs will work on all Sony cd-changers. I now have a 1994 Jaguar XJ6 and I have the same error code. I know that Jaguar installed Alpine CHM-S620 cd-changers. So in theroy you could go to an audio store and get the same cd-changer and it should have the same plugs so you wont need to rewire anything. I havent done it yet because I just bought the 1994.
