Once I change bios password, how do i use it to change password at start up/user screen? Fujitsu lifebook model b6220 (windows installed).

Bios password is completely separate to windows password. The BIOS is Basic Input Output System and runs when you first switch the laptop on, performing a POST operation. Once the POST is finished, windows starts loading up from disk.

If you need to reset a windows password, for example if you have forgotten it, then you need to use a bootable Linux password reset utility. There is a free password reset utility which is part of the ultimate boot cd and can be downloaded as an iso file and burned to cd on a separate computer. Once the CD is created, put it into your laptop and boot up the system. Use the menus to choose under file utilities, Offline NT Password Tool and it will allow you to reset the password of whichever account you choose

Bios password

Find the quarter-sized battery on the motherboard and remove it for a few minutes. There might be two pins nearby that read CMOS reset or BIOS reset. Shorting them together with all power removed, including the small battery, can also reset the BIOS.

BIOS on a Fujitsu C-Series LifeBook b> Resetting the BIOS system of a computer can help revitalize the computer's usage. Oftentimes computers are "broken" when they are misconfigured in the BIOS menu of the computer before it boots up. When the settings are improperly selected, the BIOS prevents the computer from working properly. To get the computer back up and running again, the BIOS needs to be reset. The Fujitsu LifeBook C2111 has its BIOS system located on the motherboard beneath the keyboard.

Turn the Fujitsu laptop over with the computer powered off. Remove the AC adapter and push the battery release latch in and pull the laptop battery out of the Fujitsu. Remove the screw holding the hard drive in place and slide the cover off of the laptop. Remove the two screws underneath the cover that holds the hard drive onto its bracket. Slide the hard drive out of the laptop. Turn the computer back over and lay the screen down so that it is parallel to the surface on which the laptop is resting. Remove the small screw above and to the left of the keyboard with the Phillips screwdriver. Push the keyboard toward the screen until it disengages. Fold the keyboard over the screen and rest it there with the keys facing the screen. You will now see the motherboard of the Fujitsu C2111. Locate the small, round lithium-ion battery on the motherboard and remove it. This is the BIOS battery that stores all of the settings and password of the BIOS when the computer loses power. Hold the power button in on the computer to drain the BIOS system and leave the battery out of the laptop for at least 30 minutes. Place the BIOS battery back into the motherboard and reattach the keyboard. Tighten the keyboard screw that you removed earlier, and turn the Fujitsu back over and reattach the hard drive along with the covers for the hard drive and RAM. Push the computer battery back into place and attach the power cable to the computer. Turn the Fujitsu back on and the BIOS menu will be reset.
or b> Start the computer and press the "F2" key while the system boots, if the computer is currently off. If already on, restart the computer and press the "F2" key while the system boots. The BIOS setup utility will appear. Press the right arrow on the keyboard and scroll over to the "Exit" tab. Press "Enter." A drop-down menu will appear. Scroll down to "Default Settings" using the down arrow key and press "Enter." A dialog box will appear, asking if you are sure you want to load the default settings. Scroll over and select "OK" using the arrow keys and press "Enter." All BIOS settings will reset to the default value. Scroll back to the "Exit" tab using the arrow keys and press "Enter." Scroll down and select "Save Changes and Power Off." Press "Enter." The computer will save the default BIOS settings and power down. Fujitsu Lifebook T Series b> Restart your Fujitsu Lifebook T Series computer. Press "F2" as soon as the computer starts booting. Enter your current BIOS password if prompted. Use your right arrow key to select the "Security" menu. Use your down arrow key to select the password you want to reset. Press "Enter" to select the password. Enter the current password when prompted. Enter your new password or a blank password if you want to clear the password. A blank password resets the BIOS password completely, meaning you do not have to enter a password to enter the BIOS or boot your computer. Press "Enter" to save your password settings.
Repeat the process if you have multiple passwords set. Press "F10" to save all settings and exit the BIOS.

Hallo, unfortunately I had lost the bios password for my Celsius H230 SN YBWP0032-- What can I do to reset it. Many thanks Bernhard

To reset your bios password you need the unique bios master password the Fujitsu knows and http://www.unlockbiosrecovery.com/Unlock_Fujitsu_Bios.php can be calculated by this site. They are cheap $20 and their page will describe what information is needed from your laptop for them to email you the bios master password. They guarantee the bios master password to work or they refund your money. I use them all time at my job as a laptop tech.
