Maytag MFD2561HES Hi all. I have MaytagMFD2561HES french door and water dispencer doesn't work. I replaced the filter(was year old) but it didn't work. I hear the motor running and when I replaced the filter water was running from the bottom of the freezer. But it was stopped after few mins. My ice dispencer doens't work, door alarm doesn't work and water filter and replace indicator doesn't work. Both freezer and refregerator works fine. Display shows correct temp, vacation mode, and other funtions work. I didn't use the fridge for year (used it for 8 months only) and any help would be appreciated. Thank you much for your quick response. Could you please explian how I could take the back cover off and directions on how to reinstall control board etc? I forgot to tell you when I tried to use the water dispencer it leaked lots of water(crack on water filter). I left filter compartment open without installing blue cap for two weeks. Once I intalled the new water filter some water spilled out but then it stopped. I hear water dispencer moter trying and ice dispencer trying to make ice. I turned on speedy ice feature and freezer got really cold but didn't make any ice(at least I heard it was trying). Your input is appreciated.

I have a very similar problem. Water will not run, everything in the crisper drawers freeze, when I called Sears they told me I needed to change my water filter, that didn't work and besides what does a dirty filter have to do with the crisper freezing? If this happens (water won't flow) check the loading of the shelves ... if you "jammed" a bunch of food into the fridge (ie just after a trip to the grocery store) then the airflow in the fridge will go straight down the back. If you keep the temp set low then the reservoir will freeze up faster. Try repositioning the stuff in the fridge and or setting the temp a couple of degrees higher. Your choice.
