I have exactly the same problem, only the rear speakers also on my spherex system, I too have tried everything and it's very annoying, I'm seriously considering getting a new speaker system because of it.I have exactly the same problem, only the rear speakers also on my spherex system, I too have tried everything and it's very annoying, I'm seriously considering getting a new speaker system because of it.

I get the buzz only through the digital inputs either the optical or the coax.
For instance, if I change tv channels or switch digital inputs I get a buzz.
The buzz can be reduced or eliminated by: (1) power-cycling the spherex; (2) switching between inputs; (3) power cycling the input.
It is a pain in the *** and needs a solution.
I don't know why spherex doesn't just release the schematics and trouble shooting guides and let us home brew sollutions. They went out of business, and the least they could do is empower those of us who are stuck with their products.I get the buzz only through the digital inputs either the optical or the coax.

they are dealing with a michigan based company that repairs spherex equipment.
They needed the original box in order to get all the equipment at the same time, and i had to pay for the shipping.

They have a michingan based company that fixes their stereos,
They require it shipped to them in the original box, and you have to pay for the shipping to them. They sent me a new sub unit, the power supply, but the satellite speakers were from my original . I have to look for the phone number so the rest of you can call. Hey mine had a lifetime warranty, so check your literature that came with it, if you saved it. They want that too, so send them a copy of it, not the original.
Thank you spherex!I finally got intouch with spherex.

Generally the hum is one of two things. If a sensor, pickup, per-amp, or mini-amp are too close to the receiver or speaker, Feed-back may occur or a hum and buzz join the audio signal out. The usual problem is: line in port on the instrument can be defective or the male jack is not making proper contact. If a cord is tested and working, the condition is in the input on the instrument. If a terminal has a loose wire inside the instrument the problem can be intermittent ( come and go) and thus a buzz or line noise may be present.
yes. A good idea. Kill power to the sub, then unplug and remove everything from the sub. go ahead and plug it in again and check for buzzzz.
That is test one. if you have buzz still, its the sub assembly. bad luck, but not impossible. If the buzz is gone its one of the signals to the sub. They can produce a buzzz without any signal coming from your stereo equipment. Replace the feed line, enjoy! BTW...Kef sure does sound clean. good choice.
'Buzzing' is not a good thing; it implies that filtration of the DC used by the output section is not as it should be.
Power supplies that are mildly overloaded can cause this or an abnormal current drain from one (or more) channels.
The odd problem with the back speakers does sound like a setup problem rather than a circuit failure.
Of course it will stop buzzing when you mute the speakers.
From the limited description, it could be anything from a power supply to loose wires in the system between the speaker leads and the motherboard.
Best bet is to take it in to a technician and get a pro's answer. If he wants to charge more than what it's worth to you, get a new one.
The delay is normal as it's designed to create a spacious large room sound. The buzz however, is not. It sounds like the power supply is bleeding into the amp and should be serviced.
