Cannot get out of channel search - Sanyo DP26746 26 in. LCD Television

There is only one channel in auto search. Just open searching menu and auto search again your new channels.

Ensure that you have a good connection to your antenna/cable/satellite, and that you have selected the proper signal type in your TV menu.

If you are using a cable box or satellite, you might need to search for an analog signal on channel 3 or 4. If your cable/satellite box outputs an HDTV signal, then search the digital channels. If you are using an antenna, search for digital channels and set it the TV to Air in the Channel menu.

you can do the auto search channel. just press the tv menu and then find the channel search and select auto search. so that all available local channel will tuned.

To tune the local channels do the following.

1 Press the MENU key on the remote control to
display the Main menu.

2 Use the CURSOR "UP" or "Down"
keys to highlight
Manual Channel Search. Press ENTER.

3 Use the CURSOR "Up" or "Down"
keys to select Cable,
Air (Antenna), or Digital Add-On.

After the search is complete, the HDTV will exit the
menu system and return to normal TV viewing.

IMPORTANT FACT: This HDTV maintains only one database

of digital channels. Therefore, when you search for

cable channels, the database of antenna digital channels

will be deleted. You will only be able to receive those
ClearQAM channels your cable company provides.

NOTE:"Not available" will appear on the screen

when an option is unavailable.

The only thing I see in the Manual is to do an auto search which will scan all available channels and saves them to memory. the faxtory setting is auto search. the search allows you to manually search for available channels. in this mode, available channel must be stored individually. the program sets your favorite channel to appear when the tv is turned on. the range is from channel 0 - 255. i hope this helps.

Tested and verified solution:

1. Set Tuner Mode to "antenna".
2. Run a channel scan. Should get zero channels found.
3. Set Tuner Mode to "cable".
4. Run another channel scan.
5. Celebrate!

more information).
{ NICAM } – Turn on or off the digital sound transmission
system which improves the sound quality of the
TV channel.
– Use ���� keys to select { On } or { Off }, then
press OK to confi rm.

sounds like the tuner section of the main pcb isn't working properly.

Try this!

The manual states the TV is designed to search for channels.

turn the power on
then hit menu
(if it doesn't start searching for channels)
then hit channel up -let it run a complete channel search
hit menu again
(if it doesn't start searching for channels)
hit channel up- let it run a second channel search
hit menu again after it finishes it's 2nd search cycle
if it doesn't go to a channel, hit the input button.
