DVD player disc tray won't open

Disc tray won't open on JVC XV-N312S. Disc is in tray. Pressing the "open" button toggles between display of "open" and "close" in display window, but nothing happens. No other buttons work, including on/off button. Unplugging and plugging in power supply does nothing. Can this be fixed at home? Cost of repair for this 4-yr old machine would not be worth it.

Take a screw driver and open it up
maybe its a disc that stuck
if not working
probably cheaper to buy a new one

Lock

Hi there,

The disc lock function has been activated on your JVC XV-N320, when in this mode the tray cannot be opened or closed.

If you press the 'eject' button whilst pressing down the 'stop' button on the machine in standby mode the disc lock will deactivate. To turn it back on you follow the same procedure. This is also described in the user manual for this model of TV umder trouble shooting on page 13.

Hope this helps,

James

Dvd player will not open disc, display lock

Sound like it either has one or two problems, the door is stuck and or the door eject motor has failed. Look in the front to the player for a small paperclip like hole, and use a paper clip to manual eject the and engage the loading mechanism usually located under the door for most cases. Check you manuals troubleshooting section for manually ejecting a CD..

Jvc dvd player no disc error

Hello!

I did have a similar problem. It was solved by cleaning the laser lenses/prisma. You have to dismantle the whole pick-up the to see the laser lenses.

There is one lens which is held by couple wires and below there is prisma/mirror.

I did use ear-cleaner-stick and desinfection liquid (with alcohol) for cleaning. Now it works!

I have a xv n330 dvd player and it says lock when I try to take out the dvd in the player and it says lock.

When you press the eject botton while pressing down the stop botton on the unit in
standby mode, the tray lock function is activated. The disc tray
cannot be opened or closed in this status. To release this
status, press the eject botton while pressing down the stop botton on the unit in standby
mode.

Disc tray

Something is causing the disc to get stuck inside the DVD player. Open it and inspect. If something is broken, take it to a repair center.
