Need to replace coil pack...after first checking fuse
Testimonial: "Alan thanks for your kind consideration , however , the coil pack is brand new aftermarket and I have checked all of the fuses in car and under the hood.Do you think it may be a relay ? I have asked a friend of mine to come over with his diagnostic device to see if any codes are showing. Dave"

Check for a bad distributor cap and or rotor..........a bad cap and or rotor can caues firing (cross fire)across the terminals and introduce spark to the wrong cylinders at the wrong time.......
hope this helps.....good luck!

Your Starter Brushes are worn down to far to Kick her Over. Replace that Starter and you Should be Good. Let me Know!

If your air mass meter tests good, the I would tell you to check the HIGH PRESSURE PUMP underneath the Driver's side chassis pump holder-next to the fuel filter.
There are 2 pumps on your Volvo---the in-tank low pressure, and the chassis mounted high pressure. The car will run with the in-tank failed and the high pressure good. It will not run with the high pressure failed. Test the pump by applying voltage to the two terminals.
Another common failure, should the high pressure pump be good, is the HALL EFFECT SENSOR located in the distributor on the back of the engine. Once this sensor goes, it's no start. A rebuilt or used distributor may be the answer to your problem.

Sounds like either a bad plug wire, or coil pack. This is about all that would cause the misfire.
SOURCE: oil around spark plugs on 1992 honda accord
Yes the oil can cause the car to lose spark, the oil leak could be caused by the valve cover gaskets around the spark openings, but 9 times out of 10 it is the spark plug tube "O" rings. The top of the valve train comes off of the head, the "O" rings are between the two halves, that will fix the oil leak.
