My built in webcam on my advent 5313 laptop is on and works fine on msn and facebook, yet I cannot find it as a program in the start menu. I am confused :S
A lot of the advent range do not come with offline webcam software as standard, and your model is one of them. Try a freeware app. like YAWCAM or pay for one like ArcSoft.

There is no longer a program called MSN - for nearly 6 years! The only MSN software now are Trojans, however there is still a MSN Web Portal to access Hotmail accounts.
Download Windows Live Messenger and use the built in configuration utility when you set it up.
Windows Vista and 7 have no built in webcam application like Windows XP did. If you want to use your webcam for anything other than video calls you'll need to download 3rd party software.
Check the Webcam from internet apps like "Yahoo messenger" or msn gmail etc if still not working.
then your webcam is broken. need servicing. or use External Webcam.
Well i have a Advent Roma laptop and a built in webcam it dont work on MSN i click the next persons webcam sign and video call comes up and my webcam dont work i want to know how i can work it ?
If the webcam is broken, then if your laptop is under warranty period have it replaced.
If not then you will have to buy a usb webcam.
Broken Webcam for laptops are preety hard to fix at home. They might get fix at service stations.
