Contact Ricoh and talk to the tech support guys. The print heads are shot. They might send you a replacement printer and have you return that one in exchange.

Probably dirty heads on the nozzle. In most inkjets there is a maintenance option to clean the heads. I would first clean the heads, and then make sure that the print heads were aligned. If that is all squared away then check for any driver or firmware updates. Finally get some rubbing alcohol and gently clean the print head. Sometimes if the printer is not used that often the ink will congeal and smear.
Your printer is fried but i bet you figured that out by now. You using Saw grass ink i bet. Well thanks to them you now have boat anchor. The ink destroys the printer. I got one 2.
it sound like a faulty chip on the cartridge, you could try cleaning the contacts on both the cartridge and the printer to see if that helps but personally I think it will be the chip. new cartridge or chip im afraid. I could have helped you more if you had included in your question the make of printer etc.
If you have taken it apart that far then you are way ahead of the game. My suggestion would be to clean the head or anything the ink touches in a vinegar/water solution. The vinegar dissolves any dried ink whereas the soap may actually gum things up. If that doesn't work or improve things I would say that your print head has a seal problem. The replacement print heads are worth more than a new printer so you can probably figure out whats cheaper to do.
you may have to clean the print head. since the jam cause the smear, and there still have some ink left on the print head.
