How can I reinstall my acer orbi cam my daughter deleted it and now I cant get it back, can you please help and I have Windows Vista or can you suggest some better that will work with windows vista cause it was not working
There is a utility bar that you can install that lets you change the default application folder:
** Note ** When the My Pictures or Pictures folder gets full, camera will not work - Cut and Paste all pictures in that
folder to another folder and restart Orbicam program.
If that does not work then do this:
Start - Programs - look for Acer Empowering Technology then Acer E-Recovery - The look at the bottom and you will
"Backup", "Burn disk" and Restore" choose Restore - choose Apps and Drivers at the bottom of Restore tab (it will say
extracting) - once extracted - click Install - click Vista or (XP) on the left - click Drivers - click Camera or CCD - on the
right side of the screen, then look for Bison driver or (or your model which can be found in device manager - control panel - system - device manager - Imaging devices) you have then click a phrase that has something like "Install now", follow on screen instructions. Then repeat steps above and instead of driver choose Bison (or your model which can be found in device manager - control panel - system - device manager - Imaging devices) Utility

6. Choose applications and then choose CCD. It may also be under Camera in the drivers section.
7. On the right click the install link and follow the prompts.
8. The system may restart when installation is complete
Do not allow the system to shut down during this process. Plug in the AC adapter if necessary.

The solution if your acer orbicam improvvisely stopped to work (like
dead) is really simple. Download the updated driver file from the acer
ufficial website in the support division and reinstall it. After it the
orbicam will work again.

To fix the problem about the webcam that improvvisely not is working more on your Acer 5100 and some other series proceed as I indicate:
create a new folder where to transfer the pictures contained in your images folder.
Then reinstall the the webcam driver.
For the future, leave the "images" folder empty or just put inside few pictures file (but for me would be better to leave it empty).

It is the wiring on the camera itself. If I move the camera around I can get it to work. This, when all this time I tried deleting and downloading drivers, etc. My camera is logitec orbicam 1.3 mega and you can turn it to take pictures 180 opposite of the keyboard.

For those who have problem with their acer orbicam with windows vista try this: from "Start" cick "Run". Type "msconfig", it will bring u up "system configuration" window. Click on "Startup" tab. Search for "AcerOrbicamUVC" (or similar with that) and "CameraMonitor Application" . Uncheck both. Click OK. and then restart your windows. See if it works. :) good luck.

my grand son did same. i had problem getting it started again untill friend told me to unistall windows photo gallery. i did that and downloaded orbicam drivers. it works ok now.

Lol you just need to eset the computer...take it to best buy or somewhere and they will make your comp just a shell and then reload the factory software...this will delete any problems and files

Hey I have a acer aspire 5100 and my camera stopped working also. So I contacted acer about the problem. They gave me some instructions to fix it and it worked!!! First we will create the new folder where the pictures will be moved to: 1. Click on the Start button. 2. Click on Computer 3. Double-click on the C drive 4. Double-click on Users 5. Double-click on your user name 6. Double-click on Desktop. 7. Once you are in the Desktop, right-click on a blank white area (not on an icon) then select Create > New Folder. 8. Call the folder “Picture Backup” or any other significant name. (Do not close the windows since we will need it later) in step 11 Now we will move the pictures from the old folder to the new one: 9. Click on the START button then click on Pictures 10. Click on one picture and then go to Edit > Select All. This will highlight all the files in this folder. 11. Right-click on one of the selected files then select Cut 12. Go back to the folder we created in step 7 and 13. Right-click and paste the contents we Cut from the Pictures folder. Now, restart your computer and try the OrbiCam application again. This should allow your OrbiCam application to work again.
Restor system to early time if only icon is deleted,,if program is uninstalled,,try to restore operating system to an early date.if it does not work,,try to restore windows using recovery cd comming with laptop.

unfortunately there could be the possibility that your acer cam is not compatible with vista.. vista is a tricky os right now so it is particular on devices and compatability issues--i was an early adoptor and it isn't fun.. i would check out logitech cams, they seem to work well but look for the vista compatible.. you may want to visit your acer website and see if there are any update or downloads for current users that now have vista.. hope this helps..

windows vista doesnt like the older equipment for some reason it doesnt work well with some new hardware just to let you know vista is still in its infancy stage getting better as its source and updates go along

I have already spoken with a member of Acer technical team who said he would send me an email to try to resolve the problem. Ten days later this has yet to arrive.
I have also emailed Acer, approximately one week ago with the same problem. Yes, I am still waiting to receive a reply!

i have deleted my acer webcam icon would like to know how to put it back i have an acer aspire 9300 pc notebook can anyone help me please
I click acer Orbicam and get a message that says it has stopped working. I check online for a solution. It says to go online and get an update.

My acer orbi cam is built in my laptop. It always used to work until one day it didnt and it came up saying it isnt working and there isnt a souloution. I was really upset because i wont be able to use it ever again now. Please help
i acidentally deleted the orbi cam and driver software and i can't figure out to get it back and i don't have the disk that came with it cause i bougt the laptop from a guy one of my friends know and when it searches the internet for the software i says it can't do it what do i do?

My cam doesn't work in Messenger but its does work in normal desktop but i think i have removed it and now even in the desktop i could not even open it.

my orbicam keeps displaying an error message that the camera is not working.
