I had the same problem...when I go to type username and password page goes to load, turns white as its says 'redirecting'.

Sent several emails to [email protected] with no update from them on fixing this. Tried clearing cache/temp files in IE (tools--.internet options-->delete files), deleting cookies, clearing history, running Norton scan (no probs/no findings), restarting computer and all of these methods do NOT fix problem. I use IE6. Note that for the 1 out 10 chance I do successfully login, the page still freezes when I switch from one tab to in facebook to another tab in facebook.

I hope everyone experiencing sends an email to facebook ASAP([email protected]) b/c the more that report this the faster they get out with a fix (I had heard thatFacebook might have changed something on facebook's servers on 2/5/09, which might explain why this problem started on that date). Switching to Firefox just to use Facebook is not acceptable.

Additional Details
Others have reported that when using either IE6 or IE7, that the problems discussed above have constantly occured since/around 2/5/09.

Everyone experiencing these problems with either IE6 or IE7, PLEASE send a detailed email to [email protected] ASAP, and include it that email which version of IE you are using, and if the problem is as outlined above, include those details. Facebook tech support ([email protected]) needs to know this ASAP.

1. go to "Run"
2. type cmd hit enter
3. a black box will come up. type exactlyafter the colon : telnet www.facebook.com and hit enter
4. wait until it goes through a list of numbers and addresses
5. it will give you a number at the bottom somthing like. 208.24.56.890 or somthing.
6. take tht number and type it into the URL and hit enter if it does it again then its facebook it self
