SOURCE: ice crusher has stopped crushing
There is a little bar that is on the ice bucket. That bar has to go into the middle of the plastic square that is on the back wall of the freezer. Try Pulling out the ice bucket, get a hair dryer and run the hair dryer on the back wall of the freezer right above the hole where that little bar goes. After you run the hair dryer for about 10 minutes or so put your finger in the hole and pull down on the plastic square. Make sure when you put the ice bucket back in the freezer, the bar goes inside the square hole, not under it, not over it. In it. If that doesn't fix the problem you probably just need a new solenoid. Part number 5304404333
Let me know how you make out. Good Luck

Almost everytime I encounter this its the actuator on the solenoid sticking. Check this out, Pull the ice bucket out and you will see a rod on the lower back. This is what flips up and down to engage the crushing mechanism. Where this rod connects in the freezer is where this solenoid is. Try this, Open the freezer and with the ice bucket out hit the ice button, both for crushed and cubed ice while watching the solenoid. You should see it engage and move up and down along with an unmistakable thud. Some times all thats needed is to loosen the 2 mounting screws and realign the plunger. The normal resting place for the plunger is in the down position. I've also seen the plastic break on the plunger.
Theres also the possibility ice is jambed up, I've seen the bucket put in improperly, the solenoid itself could be bad, Or the control board tho unlikely. 95% of the time its a stuck solenoid. Hope this helps!

Hi there,
there might be something in between the door and the ice crusher. If you could check what it is, would be good otherwise call in a repairman to work on this problem.

Remove the ice tray and check to make sure that it is not froze up with with ice. the bottom of the tray has a rod attached to it that controls a flapper that opens and closes to allow the ice to pass thru without hitting the cutter or closes to hit crush blades. make sure this is not in a bind or froze up. this rod goes into a plastic housing at the back of the freezer that has a solenoid switch that activates it to open it up. check to make sure all of these items are free of ice and in their proper position and or not broken.
