it could be that the water level got to high and came out of the valve you could try putting a cap on the valve and see if that works and if it does not then it might be a bigger issue.

if you mean the inlet valve turns the incoming water of before it fills then you have a fault with one of 2 things. - the water level hose is (blocked) or more so the lower p.c.b board is broken and needs to be replaced as its water level sensor is faulty.

Check the drain hose where it leaves the machine, if the square section of it is not in the plastic housing it will cut on the cabinet, if this has happened replace the hose they are difficult to repair, Other possibilities, pump is leaking, and check that the inlet hoses are not leaking and have washers in every connection.

access through the back panel to have a look at the drain pump which is likely your fault. Run a cycle and watch it when it drains you will likely see water leaking from the pump (about $25 and easy to change)

When they say replace the valve There,s a very good chance the diaphram is the valve is purferated or split (common Problem).But you can Remove the coil from this & with pointy nose plyers you can unscrew the top & inspect the diaphram If it,s ok give us a bit more info Hope this helps.Cheers.
