How are you trying lo load and what are you trying to load?

You need to first load LWP and UPD which are the terminal and radio drivers. Then you need to load the application.

Need to reload Symbol PDT 6846 scanners

To configure the terminal Ctrl-C to drop you to a DOS prompt then type cfg11 this will then take you a configuration screen where you can enter wireless and IP settings.

I can’t say about what program you are trying to load. If you get the system to associate then the next step is to configure the host settings.

FUNC-CTL-R at the Connect to Host screen

Password: system

Then you can add host settings.

It’s a shame we fix PDT6846's all the time and if we replace the board reconfigure them for the customer.

We are having trouble to get a PDT 6846 Portable Terminals radio to connect to a Cisco 1121G Access point. Any setting that need to be tweaked?

Yes...there are lots of things you need to tweak. Contact Motorola Support (they bought Symbol) at 1-800-653-5350. You may need to create a script to run with the CISCO AP's...Symbol defaults to their own Access Point settings. Good Luck. If you need further help, our company, qdata, can help (for a fee)

Contact me at 1-866-306-7226.

Symbol PDT 6846 - Scanner won't read 13 digit barcodes (program returns "not on file"). How do we update the scanner application?

This sounds like a programming issue. What application are you using? If you are using a terminal emulation software then you will need to check your host for the issue. If you are using a batch program where the files are stored on the scanner then you will need to check your "validation" files to make sure the code you are scanning is in the scanner.

RF driver failed to load

It can only be one of two things.

Less likely but also will cost you nothing, try and reload LWP and UPD but don't forget to use the comman FLSHFMT on both E drive and D drive first.

More likely is that the radio card of the terminal is busted or might have become lose as the internal radio connector was always a bit flakey on this device. You can try removing the 6 screws on the plastic cover, open it and unplug and plug again the radio card.
