Calypso Washing Machine

I can't solve your problem, but I can say I have the same problem. I think grease is getting past the seals and getting into the washing basket with the cloths. I have a repair guy coming tonight. Hopefully he will confirm and fix. My machine is 9 years old and never a problem..till now.

If it makes a banging sound when spinning, and i take it you have not relocated to another place, then very possible one of the balancing springs have broken. The favorite one is at the back(underneath the machine). Tilt the unit 50 deg. backwards and carefully view the springs.Replace or repair where necessary. When you stand in front of the unit with the lid open, look downwards at the tub and see if it is sitting in the middle.(If not, then check the springs). Again im assuming that the washing load in the machine is even and uniform.

Its your control board most likely.Im sorry these machines were full of gremlins.service techs hate to work on them thats why its so much to fix them.sorry.

Hi , I,m online now trying to fix my calypso dryer problem , ijust got done fixing my washer 10 minutes ago (clogged pump) . In the past I have unplugged the units when they acted up (re-boot) and worked up til this sunday . Good luck !!

Call manufacturer,they do have warranties that repairmen don't tell you about.

first off pull the front panel off and look to see if the water is spraying onto ALL the FOUR walls inside the machine, usually its about a foot high from the base. If you see that water has leaked and made the 4 walls wet , stop and consider tossing the machine out.Because that is a expensive repair youll make and there are many other problems this model has yet to show you. Sorry !

to all that are having a problem with these calypso washers... if you have paid for a repair then you need to check out the lawsuit... calypsosettlement.com and see if it applies to you.
but if you are getting a mark or a residue on your clothes, then look at the inner wash plate gasket, where it meets with the outer stainless steel tub. if there is a gap between the gasket and the tub then thats where the marks are coming from.
it happens alot and thats not covered by the settlement, but its not too bad to replace the inner wash plate. you need to remove the cabinet, then the tub cover and the innerwash plate dome. then 6 screws and the cover will come off.
replacing the inner wash plate will solve the stains and get you a few more years of use until you have to buy a new washer as more items may fail.

I have had the same problem, there is too much water in the basin. I actually have a repair man coming over in the morning to replace the pump motor. There is a way to make the pump drain without cycling the washer. I cannot remember the exact process, so I will have to wait until the am to repost the solution (sorry).

sounds like you've got something blocked in your pump. There's live wires under your machine near the pump so be very careful not to electrocute yourself. Best to get the repair man out and have him explain this time what's going on. I'd get a Fisher & Paykel authorized serviceman who knows what he's doing - call Fisher & Paykel with your zipcode and they'll give you some numbers to call.
